Thank You Gift Shop System Idea!!!!!

Hi all,

as the title a sugests...

how about a gift shop for the thank you posts we recieve......

so when we get soo many thank you posts we can redeem bonuses for a specific casino or so on, and where it says under our name we have this many thank yous and that many given,
there could be another 1 that says  (thank yous used for a gift)

i dont know what the rate of bonuses could be, but maybe 50 for £5 or £10 bonus at a casino you get an exclusive for or a sponser for the site i dont know but i really think this could work and make the site much better

i think it will actually make the site better in the long term, more people would make an effort and keep an eye out and post more promotions on the forum and soo on, yes this system could be abused too, but i actually think the positives outway the negatives

and there could be a limit on how many thank yous you can recieve in 1 day and so on

so that would stop the abuse to a certain extent

just an idea, i hope everyone else thinks it is too

Hmmm it definitely could be open to abuse.  Do you think it would "de-value" the thank yous as they stand at this moment in time?

First, it is great to see people trying to think of ways to enhance the forum... but, that said, I have to wonder with blue if that would de-value the thank yous as they are now used.

Now, you use the thank you to show agreement and appreciation for what the poster has written. If you knew you were going to get a prize of some sort for saying it then most would say it on every post they read and that, I think, would render it meaningless...

The idea of a "tiered" thank you kind of fits in with a thought I have had about that feature of the forum... sometimes when I use the thank you it just does not express what I am actually trying to say regarding that post, so I have thought perhaps some choices of things we could say with that click... for instance, you could choose things like, "well done" "I totally agree" or "way to go" etc.

well how about another system seperate to the thank yous then

maybe a new system altogether but still keep the thank you system as it is

maybe i dont know lol

but maybe the admins could think of something that wont affect the current thank you system then, it would be nice to get extra bonuses though for taking part in the forum, even though i take part anyway, if you know what i mean

We are always thinking of new ways to show our appreciation to our members as well as keep you guys involved and enjoying the forum we have available.

Development is a big factor to also consider. Keep the ideas coming guys, your input is appreciated

I understand what your saying RJ...it would be a bit dificult to abuse...your saying for the thanks yous we "recieve" not "give". Giving thanks yous would get abused for sure but recieving them is a whole other story...we can't make people read out post and thank us for them...they would just have to be on the look out for multiple accounts created to thank ourselfs to get ahead of the game but LCB is always on top of things like that and spammers! I think it's a fun idea and would definately get people more motivated to start posting and sharing their thoughs and ideas! I'm guessing if they did something like this regular terms would apply to the free chip or whatever the bonus is and also it would have to be a bit difficult to earn...maybe 1000 thank yous for $10 otherwise LCB would go broke, lol!

No problem...From what I read it looks like everyone misunderstood what you were trying to say....unless I'm misreading but you are going by the amount of people who thank you for post not by how many you give. Along the same line here if that doesn't work maybe they could give out a bonus once a month to the 3 people who have the most thanks yous accumulated for that month or the top 3 people who's post have been read the most???? That might be pretty cool...it would mean us users would have to come up with some pretty catchy headers to get others to read our posts! I dunno, anything that includes a free bonus will definately get people posting lol...!

I was one of the stronger opponents to this idea when this thread was started... so I will just try to sum up what I have a problem with, then I will sit down, shut up, and see what comes... as I said before, whatever is done I will learn to cope with it. Here are quotes directly out of RJ's explanation of the "system" he is suggesting:

"a cap on how many posts you can do the thank you on and which type of thank you, you can give"

So, I'm just sayin', tiers, limits, levels, and caps placed on something like a thank you given or received in appreciation or to show agreement with a post does not seem right to me. And my final point I want to put forward on this subject is that even without it being a competition and thank yous not having any value for prizes or purchases, there have been people that complain and have their feelings hurt because they did not receive enough thank yous.

Now as promised I will sit down and hush.

ok i see, i hope u can persuede him then, i dont like the thread system though, i think it is best on the number of thank yous we recieve, lets see what happens though, i supose anything similar would be good too though

personally i don't like the thank you gift idea, i think a thank you is a given gift already and is appreciated by both members, it should always remain innocent and free of anything that comes along with it

but the posting idea is a good one!

thank you for all your suggestions.

Like Lips said earlier, we have been contemplating this idea for quite some time now.

The main reasons why we still havent done anything are :

a. potential abuse by members ( whether its ty given/received or useless posts just to rank up the numbers)

b. difficulties in programing a system which would automatically calculate ( taken the criterias we set up ) and give points which can later be redeemed for various prizes ( including cash, vouchers, LCB branded tshirts, mugs and such ), and making such system to be fair and abuse free.


I think for now we should do a test trial with best topic starters of the month and give some prizes accordingly.

We will make something starting the following month.

As a conclusion we have always been interested in awarding our loyal membership ( hence the various contests and prizes and money awarded in past ) and will continue to do so.

We are also making plans to introduce a LCB shop, where you will be able to redeem free stuff like LCB branded T shirts, mugs, caps, amazon vouchers etc.

LCB T-shirt is a good idea zuga.  I had several Tshirts from several sportsbooks that I still wear it once in awhile.  I was happy to receive the Tshirts, when I wear it around, the sportsbooks will be happy cuz I might bring players to them.  I think it might be less abuse if the prizes for our contest to be won as LCB merchandises and of course it'll be more abuse if the prizes are cash, just my thought.
