Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit...

The, "Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit," tool has not functioned properly for a few days.  It will work, at first, but then after I click on one of the topics to read it and try to go back to read the rest of the unread topics, they are all gone.  That list used to have all of the unread posts still there except for whatever one(s) you clicked on.

Same thing happens to me.  Also many times posts are missing that i havent seen and wont see it til someone else replies.

same problem and it's getting to where the forum is much less useful for my needs... hope it's fixed soon.

I'm not having a problem either.  Have you checked all your profile settings?  There could be something in there.

I can't see anything in profile settings that would change the outcome.

thanx for the heads up.  As far as Im aware forum would make such posts as read after some time has passed , even if you didnt read them. But that was usually after longer period of time passed, given the amount of new posts.

I have had instances where I click "Show unread posts since last visit" and there are none showing, but then just automatically push "Show new replies to your posts" and there are posts showing at that same time and those should be showing up on the first list also. Something does seem to be amiss...

By the way, it's been going on more than a few days.  I'd say at least a month now, about 60% of the time, no unread posts is the message given.  I hope the fix is easy to find - thanks, Zuga!

I'm having trouble with this again.  The "show replies to your posts" is helping, but "show unread posts since last visit" is not being nice to me.  Thanks for any help with that.

We are aware of this problem and been trying to fix it. Unfortunately the only solution is to go with an upgrade to the latest version of SMF forum we are using.

Now this is a very serious upgrade as we have been customizing the current version so if we are to immediately switch to the latest version it will cause a lot of other issues.

Non the less the plan is to do the upgrade and conduct bunch of tests and look for the bugs before we do the switch.  We would do it on our own local server first to see if things go smooth.

To be honest I expect a lot of things to go wrong which will take us some time to locate and finish all the testing.

I expect to start with the testing within next 10 days or so.

I used to install patches and new versions of software so I know what you are facing, Zuga.  Thanks so much for keeping us updated and always making things better.

I did also find I had a little cookie deleting error going on so I think fixing that has helped already with my little issue.
