  • Hi folks,

I've been thinking a lot about the random card generators on poker sites recently and I must admit that its really getting to me.

This is how it goes....a fishy player raises the big blind every hand.  Somebody calls his raise after a couple of hands.  Fishy player bets big and probably ends up going all in.  Cards are revealed and fishy player has 79 off suit..caller has AA.  Flop is A68 and then any random card on the turn and the river is....10 or 5.  Fishy player wins.

I have seen this so much recently where the fishy player ALWAYS wins on the river.  I'm not sure whats going on out there but Im fed up with it.

I won't stop playing poker because I love poker and miss it if I can't get a game in but I stopped playing on one site because of this very thing and now its happening on this site that I've moved to.  Makes me wonder if they are all using the same "random" card generators.

Has anybody else noticed what I'm talking about here or got any views?

  • Hi blue,

I notice that as well, but it might be because we see sooooooo many more hands online then at a live games....i DO think that the RNG is fair at these sites..but we just seem to think about them badbeats more then our wins. Just my obsevation. Great post.

  • Yeah - you're probably right Tony.

I left my favourite poker site because of it.  It would be nice to find one that does not (seem to) favour the fish.

  • Hi Blue,

It does seem like that at times, especially when there is bad beats involved at the table. Just amazes how a player with a bad starting hand will go to the river..match you bet for bet and win with a 7 2 off suit.

I don't think poker sites using Random Card Generators (RCG) are rigged. It really would do nothing to benefit the site or line their pockets anymore than they already have. When playing at a virtual table, the poker sites make their money on the rake of the pot. Players are playing against each other and not the house...they don't care who wins.

From what i understand the RCG shuffle is more random than a live dealer or a shuffling device. Go back to the site you love......take a deep breath...try not to cuss or throw your puter across the room. These are real live idiots getting lucky!

  • Thanks for the comments Tony and Lips.

What worries me is sites like this that state:

pkrGen software has (2) main features. Reverse RNG and Opponent Tracking. Reverse RNG refers to the process of gathering randomly generated data and reversing the process to determine future outcomes for the randomly generated data. We use a number of methods to calculate Reverse RNG, all of which we cannot disclose publicly. Though, we will share the concept behind Reverse RNG.

How many people have bought this software and how many are using it to win unfairly?

    How much does it cost?

    6-Month License ($99.99)

    12-Month License ($149.99)

    Lifetime License ($299.99)

Spend $300 and win a fortune.

I should add that I would NEVER EVER buy something like this.

  • Okay Blue....i'm alittle lost or slow today. Just exactly what does this thing do?

Could you elaborate on it.....thanks a bunch.

    Hi Lips,

Here is a video on it.  You can see it predicting what the flop will be (2 out of 3 are correct).  It basically "works out" how the RNG is working and predicts the cards from how it knows that it works if that makes sense.  Watch the video and you will see.

  • Hi Blue,

Wow i have not heard of this.....now i will be thinkin half the players own one of these when i lose!!!!! That should really be outlawed. If 2 out of 3 hands are accurate and the price for this accuracy is reasonable.....i wonder just how common this really is.

    You bring awareness....great post!

  • hi - i would have to think the random card generators are working fine - as it is not in a poker site's interest to be be seen or found to be manipulating the RCG - this is even ore so for the software suppliers. If RCG was thought to be dodgy, I susspect the the software/network provider would go bust overnight!!!

  • Lol The traffic of a site for any poker site is as follows; 80 % beginners. 15% rounders and 5 % leisure. In order to maintain a high traffic of players, these sites have automatically structured hands to benefit these players. If real time probable law of probability applied online where would all of these players go. My advice, try not to fall into the trap of playing for money online. Only understand that you're going to receive beats you haven't seen before. Try using sites like absolute or Pstars, where you can deposit ten dollars and have fun playing small ring games and sit and go's. If there players who were suppose to win always won online, that 80 % traffic of beginning players would greatly decrease thus hurting the revenue stream of the site. PLay more brick and morter casinos. as you will see your share of bad beats but not the improbable hands. As for those who say it's because you see more hands and there's more donks online, understand ( if you put in  the hours at a brick in mortar casino) that you will rarely ever see a session online where no one hits flops. However my experience playing at casinos I've hit 15 minute sessions where there's no rake because all the players at the table can't coonect with the flop or any of there draws. Trying seeing a cash game online for fifteen minutes where you won't see AA vs KK or all flush draws hitting.

  • Yeah - good thinking sahogan05.  Never thought of it from the "poker site" point of view.
