Caesars Las Vegas  Million dollar slot tourney was scheduled for 3 day event April 15-17 and I was lucky or Unlucky enough to get invited    3 tourneys first 20 highest scored went to next day tourney with prizes (cash) and same for next day then the top went to the Million dollar tourney live in Vegas with Live cameras in each slot.  Real neat set up.  Only problem was shortly after started the slot machines malfunctioned.  The techs were working on them when I arrived to play and worked all night.  Had Company Rep/tech there also working and was to reschedule for Saturday the 16.  Well wound up canceling the entire tourney that afternoon as they still could not fix the slots.  Gave everyone who waited in mile long line $40 free play and later the afternoon computer drew 20 names to give out cash prizes.  Of course my name was not called.  >:(  Was some angry people bunch drove fro Dallas 3-4 hours away.  Horseshoe really lost money that weekend and gave away a bunch of Seafood buffets to the customers also at $25 a piece. plus free rooms and $40. When I left a manager said narrowed down to 2 reasons slots still offline but still not sure after 24  hours with techs all over the place working 24/7.

Wow jewelnurse, that really sucks.  I would have been so disappointed too.  Especially if I drove 4 hours to get there to play.  We all know things happen beyond our control, but it is still a downer.  I think Caesars is the best!  They treat their players very well.  I played in a 2-day tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa some years back.  I won $8,000 and was thrilled to death.  Harrah's in Laughlin, NV just had a tourney like you described 2 weeks ago.  I bet it was the same thing...play, advance, and then go to Vegas for the finals.  I was invited, but couldn't go.  Believe it or not there are no flights from here to Laughlin.  Only way to get there is on a charter flight or if you land at Vegas or around there and drive to Laughlin.
