What video games are you into?

Was on Facebook earlier and saw one of my favourite games from the past turned into a short animated comic strip and it got me thinking about some of favourite video games!
The game in question is Broken Sword the Shadow of the Templars a classic point and click game released mid to late 90s on Pc and some consoles!
Broken Swords great because you really need to use your brain and think situations through often in life or death scenarios! So it would be especially suited to poker fans I'm talking to you Blue Zuga Fried Eggs Paul to name but a few! It's lateral thinking is fun and quite possibly the most addictive game since Pokemon! Another fond favourite is The Zelda series especially A link to the past! Last but not least Super Mario brothers amazing games! Favourite is still Super Mario 3!

So what games are you into? I also enjoy First person shooters,RPGS and moving side scroller games(80-90s)

ooo dont get me started on this subject bigdk    i love all the old games and have recently installed about 50 of them on my wii lol, only 2 weeks ago i completed zelda a link to past again for the first time in 20 years lol.  i did try the zelda's from the nintendo64 but got a little fed up with them as the controls were quite hard using a wii classic controller
I loved all the marios and me and my daughter have had fun playing mario party especially number 2.  My favourite mario was probably super mario world on the snes.
I also loved the donkey kong games series.

I had like tons of computer games emulators on my old original xbox but I need to collect it from my exes house. The only modern Zeldas I really liked were wind waker and poss ocarina of time can imagine it would be difficult to play with wii controller though! Yeah every Mario game from the 80s 90s was brilliant! The only thing that flawed them was I found all there secrets therefore I could finish game really quickly there are youtube videos of people completing various games really fast it's crazy! Also really like the disney games on super nintendo,strike gunner,home alone addams family that console had so many fantastic titles!! 

its funny isnt it , even with all the technology today and new games coming out you cant beat the old games for entertainment value. 
I remember spending hours trying to figure out the secret moves in street fighter 11 (chun lii being my favourite)

Yep and I am pretty certain there are a few gamers on lcb as video slots are not unlike some of the newer games they have graphics are made by programmers have bonus rounds and they are fun to play the only reason slots get a stigma from people is because of the risk factor but if you play sensible you can risk a minimal amount especially if you take a 2-300% bonus on a 10-20 deposit! These people wouldn't be saying it if they won alot playing a slot for a couple hours lol! I used to love the fighting game killer instinct I'd always go cinder or Glacier and I mastered the moves my friends always got pissed off because they could never win! haha!

I was an avid Tomb Raider fan and I managed to complete most of them.  I loved the original Super Mario game too along with Donkey Kong.  It's been a long time since I played a game like that though. 

i had the original tomb raider on the playstation but never had the patience for it. It was a great game but I preferred watching my uncle or cousins play it because they owned it! Does anyone remember Pandemonium? That was an amazing game too!

i've played all the tomb raiders up to the playstation 2, always determined to find every last secret in them and unlock all the special items and outfits.  and with playstation i also played all the resident evil and silent hill games but one of my favourites on playstation had to be the final fantasy games.

not played pandemonium that i can remember will have to go look it up now lol, i did warn u dont get me started on video games as i played a lot of them before i discovered the world of online 

I like strategy games, but i think my all time fav best game is portal 2.

It is a puzzle kind of game, where you solve puzzles people might have heard of it or played it

I even make maps for it, and at the moment i am currently working on a mod with a friend for it called Portal Stories Mel, it is on Moddb website

I played a lot video games this year my favourite was South Park made me laught in every mission

I only play Football Manager 2014 at the moment and not very often. I also like strategy games like Tropico, I'm waiting for Tropico 5 to come out this year.

I have played a lot off videogames but my favorite game is assassin's creed.
Because it was made on a lot off parts I bought the game every year.
I only play it 3 or 4 days a year.
And I like to play with my friends FIFA when we get sometimes together(very rare now:()

the 1st video game i remember playin was alex the kid on atari i think. i loved playin that game with him goin through the forest and collecting goodies while battling the evil.

when playstation came out i loved playin mario  in the game with yoshi.

they were the only 2 games i eva played .

i used to love playing bubble bubble and battlestar galactica at the arcades too

For me is definitely Sid Meier's Civilization franchise

I've never been a big fan of video games. When I was younger I used to play Super Mario games. Nowadays only Top Spin or Virtua Tennis, but only occasionally. I can't remember the last time I played them.

I haven't played much games lately, but I do have Shadowrun Returns installed and I like to remember the good old days of Role Playing
On the other hand, I was a huge fan of Civilization games, and had many sleepless nights to prove it!

How about Simcity? i'm playing sometimes ( release 2013 )

Zelda is one of the best games created. I especially like Ocarina of time. Street fighter is great to i love playing with RYU.

I've been not playing much recently but the only game I play when I have the need to play something is gta, I don't really like doing missions and alike though I just love to discover funny things in open world games.

Aside of that , Pac-Man was and is great 

I wanted to try it at some point, didn't have the time. I might give it a go.

Oh yeah, forgot about those! I have played every release!

Dont even get me started on simcity, i bought it the day it was released in march 2013, and i can tell you i was totally angry at the bad release and server issues it had, and still 12 months down the line and it is still not totally fixed 100%, and the map sizes are just a joke, and i love city building games, but this simcity was such a let down (and a very expensive letdown too)

I'm fan of simcity, i played oldest versions and can't say any bad words to creators.. maybe maps too small yeah,  but over things is great, realy.

Yeah, well, anyone remembers Railroad Tycoon? That was waaay back..

Yes, I used to play that one too, excellent game! But I guess I am a bit biased since I have a soft spot for railroads since I was a kid, I guess most boys are fascinated by railroads and trains.

Thanks for all the contributions to my topic guys and gals ! Have heard of most of the games you mentioned and have been wanting to try assassins creed for ages! I definitely remember rail road tycoon think I had it on a multi game disc for the pc back in the day! Do any of you remember a game called dr quandary or dr brain? Those games were so great when I was a kid fun and educational ! Saying that I learned more french from broken sword than I did in school haha!

Another classic RPG was golden sun if any of you still own a gameboy colour BUY this game!! ideal for rpg fans or final fantasy fans/zelda lovers etc.

OMG! I love this topic. It seems that the Zelda games are popular among LCB'ers and I too am a fan. I've played those games from Nintendo to Super Nintendo, Game Cube and Wii. The Wind Waker was awesome with all the songs to learn! I love Super Mario Brothers 1, 2 and 3. The Hobbit was an awesome game too if you like RPGs. Also Silent Hill games are super creepy and fun. Been a while since I've played and this topic has got me thinking....

You really have to buy golden sun then! get a cheap gameboy color on ebay and the game golden sun you will be addicted in no time man I wanna play it right now! and you could even download the emulator of game boy color and golden sun rom on comp to test it out. You'll need to find own websites though as I can't be posting links on here haha!

@Johnny I was never fascinated by trains, but my kid is, trains, trams, anything with tracks anyway... No wonder I know most of the Thomas The Tank Engine by heart

i think this topic is going to have half of us rooting out the old games again, although i already did before it was posted.  My daughter has me playing mario party this last couple of weeks driving me nutty 

No I'm referring to roms you download from the internet, not cd roms. Games you download from websites also called roms

I used to love video games Zelda, Tetris and donkey kong were a few of my favorites! Just looked into getting a game system to play some of the classics! Any suggestions on what route to go?

Have to say Battlefield and Diablo on PS3, and on PC World of Warcraft..

I used to play nothing but Call of Duty and Fifa

Now ive been into Rock Band big time and Disney Infinity. Got the infinity game for my daughter, but I play it more than she does.

I also have to mention the Just Dance games for Wii. again, I got these for my daughter, but I play them more than she does.

You could either try ebay or search for retro games systems on google people do still have old ones for sale. In the uk we have like adtrader gumtree and stuff so that's another good idea check your local ads websites

I just sold my old NES and Game Boy at a yard sale i had. I regret it already

Thats rough ohmesohrny I had a nes snes (no n64) and a few gameboys miss my old consoles though nothin beats retro!

I heard of this before, but there is a better series i think than this called Cities In Motion 2, i use steam, it is on steam, although Cities In Motion 2 isnt free to play, i still think it is a bit better transport game.

Since I'm a little bored then I'm reading like everything that people posted    So going to reopen some old topics..
I used to play Diablo 2 LoD on battlenet when I was younger, now any games makes me bored after playing them for 1 hr or so.. just playing League of Legends sometimes..

I am the same however if someone put on Mario or Zelda I'd be unable to not play just too good!

Did you tried Torchlight II ? it's the similar to Diablo II, only that graphic and visual effects much better

I used to play Torchlight 1 I think.. It was pretty much fun for few hours but then it got pretty borring, just doing next dungeons over and over again... I didn't like the storyline of it and graphics was too.. childish 

I love MW3 for ps3 and ALL call of duty game

I use to be a hugeeeeeeeeee Video game player. I would stay up half the night playing All the Mario games. My all time favorite was Zelda. I haven't played much in a very long time and couldn't even tell you what games are out now.

There are some crazy videos on youtbue of gamers beating mario and other games in really fast time you should check it out. I mean the whistle cheat is used on mario 3 but it's still impressive to complete this quickly!

By the way- can someone recommend me RPG like Diablo 2?  <3 I bought Diablo 3 but don't like it at all. I'd like to play a game with huge hero customization, including skills, a lot of items etc., with interesting story, just not the ones with silly graphics .. 

Maybe, but the second part is much better graphics too i recommend to try this
