  • what's your favorite horror movie ?

  • Crimson Peak : as a result of a family tragedy, a budding novelist is torn between the love she carries to her childhood friend and her attraction to a mysterious unknown. As she tries to escape the ghosts of her past, she ventures into a dark, strangely human home.

  • Haven't watched it . sounds interesting

  • "IT"

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099864/combined

  • (Broken image link removed)

  • -the thing-. the one with kurt russell. and of course alien and aliens, the other alien sequels not so!

  • my favorite horror movies Conjuring and Conjuring 2

  • FROM HELL : The true-life horror story of Jack the Ripper gets a new spin in this screen adaptation of the acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell. In 1888, a ruthless and cold-blooded killer begins hunting prostitutes in East London, and while the murderer's work is savage, the mutilation of his victims suggests the fiend has an extensive medical background. Amidst a background of political unrest and barely contained scandal among the royal family, the murderer's grisly exploits shock and frighten all of England, and one of Scotland Yard's top inspectors, Fred Abberline (Johnny Depp), is put on the case

  • My favourite is RING (1998) Japanese psychological horror movie.

  • Guys, guys, what about 'The Exorcist' (1973)? I like this piano soundtrack:

  • Its not so much my favorite movie but definately the movie that scared me the most. The Ring. I was watching that terrifying movie in my bedroom lights off (big mistake) and just when it was one of the scariest scenes the tv turns off with no explination. Your watching a movie about a ghost that comes out of the tv and the tv turns off, yeah didnt sleep well that night at all. A didnt want to watch any more scary movies after that but a couple of years later I watched one of the Grudge movies and it scared me so much havent watched one again.

  • What We Do in the Shadows

a gorgeous New Zealand movie about vampires - he's funny, and he's pretty scary.

he deserves every second of it. In fact, some of us have already seen him twice and laughing all the time! But that does not mean the movie is not scary! On the contrary! It's done under all your favorite rules - everything that's spoken in it is shown!

While, as you surely know, most representatives of the terrible genre just try to scare with fairy tales and shadows. No, here's all on the show "Show me, do not tell me" and things are done by baked professional moviegoers.

  • BEST HORROR MOVIES OF ALL TIME

THE SHINING (1980) DON'T BREATHE (2016) THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) DAWN OF THE DEAD (1979) A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984) HALLOWEEN (1978)

  • My Favourite Horror Movies are all Classics from 70s 80s and 90s. John Carpenter (Halloween,The Thing) Wes Craven (Scream,Nightmare on Elm Street) and George A.Romero (Dawn of the Dead) are the most influential Horror Movie Directors.

I also like the Chucky/Child's Play and Hellraiser series, one of my Favourites are also Jeepers Creepers,The Midnight Meat Train and From Dusk Till Dawn.

Here is the new teaser for Jeepers Creepers 3 :

  • I like all kind of exorcists horror movies :) They have a veridic based true stories.

  • Noosferato

  • I am not a fan of horror movies, but if i need to choose one favorite, it's The Mist (2007), due to an unexpected ending.

  •  Even if I don't watch very often horror movies, I still have a favorite one that is definitely Insidious (2010)

  • Yes Insidious is a great horror movie, I saw it twice, the sequels however, not as good as the first one but very watchable. I think The Exorcist also a scary one.

  • REC is a good horror movie. I also like movies like texas chainsaw massacre.

  • My favorites are Japanese horror movies, already mentioned Ring, and I like Dark Water as well.

Oh yes, and I suggest Three Extremes (Dumplings, Cut, and Box), a collaboration between South Korea, China and Japan. Fantastic.

  • The Shining is a 1980 horror film. The film is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel The Shining.

  • Nice thread! Laughed well, for me best horror is "A Nightmare On Elm Street".

  • Shaun of the Dead is a cute successful zombie spoof built on a central joke if the undead actually came to London supposedly turned-on town of nattering youth no one would really notice.

Wow! Everything you mentioned here............as if you knew me already! What he said while adding The Ring, One Missed Call, Resident Evil, The Nightmare on Elm Street and The Conjuring (1 and 2)

On top of this, this should be a well remembered theme :)

  • I like your list, most of them seems pretty accurate as on top of my list as well.

  • My favourite is Vampire Noosferato

  • Many of the movies from your lists looked. Some of them could not be watched until the end. Many in my childhood, pretty creepy and bloody movies.

  • The Cabin in the Woods

It`s original approach to horror movie and kind of parody to all cliche. Not the best movie but 100% worth his time.

  • Conjuring 2, I like this movie. for me, James Wan is one of the great masters of horror.

  • I do not know if it is thought of by most people as a horror movie, but the film Requiem for a Dream, directed by Darren Aronofsky, was so disturbing to me that I could not bear to see the final scenes. The downward spiral the characters found themselves in at the end of the film became an increasingly intense living nightmare.

  • To be honest I don’t like or watch horror films. I have no favourite and I can’t even name one. I get nightmares if I watch them and yes I’m an adult and you can laugh all you want but it’s true! Instead I usually watch comedy or action films to brighten my day.

  • The last horror movie I have seen was "It". I am not sure that it was super scary for me, however, I remember watching the old version of the film when I was like 13 or less. Back then, I was terrified and was scared of clowns for a long time.

  • I don't know if it's a horror movie or a thriller, but I remembered "hostel". Interesting movie.

  • Trust me , after this movie, you cant sleep all night. evil

    WRONG  TURN!

  • Wrong turn is a sick movie, I couldn't watch it. I like Ju-On trilogy, Japan is very artistic with horror movies.

  • I know I'm dull, but I have to say The Shining. In my opinion Jack Nicholson is one of the best actors there is. It is an old movie, and I have guts to watch it. Nowadays I am too sissy to watch these new horror moviessad

    And hey, Michael Jackson's Thriller, i t  i s  s c a r y...wink

  • The Omen

  • John Carpenter's -Vampires (1998) is a really cooll one, you won't run out of the room screaming but that's not the point there.

The Shining. Yes. I love Jack Nicholsonthumbs_up. He is terrific actor.

  • I'm a huge horror movie buff :D It's sad that you can hardly bump into a good one these days, however, there are some great (relatively recent) examples : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2282016/ (this one is sooo realistic. It makes you think like he is really going through this terror)

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1457767/?ref_=nv_sr_1 (both parts)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0404032/?ref_=nv_sr_1 - there are almost no any special effects, yet, it's so disturbing. I guess, it's because it's based on a true story.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070047/?ref_=nv_sr_1 - This one is oldie but goldie :D A must for all of us horror fanatics :D You can't call yourself a horror fan without watching this one!

  • Wrong Turn, The Amityville Horror

  • Hellraiser is my favorite, first movies of franchise ofc.

  • My favourite classic horror movie: Shining of course

My favourite recent horror movie: Conjuring, or It follows perhaps

My favourite zombie movie: Train to Busan

  • nightmare on elm st!!

    freddy comin for you

  • Be careful what you are watching many of those are not that great to watch alone ; ) This is not a joke for sure :)
