  • Hey, I want to start a discussion about smth that many people don't believe in - the psychological when gambling.

I will tell u a story I will always remember - I use to work at land-based casinos in my country for like 10 years and I have been through the lowest to almost highest possible position there, so, I mean saw almost all possible styles of gambling people.

I can conclude 1 thing (on the side that the casino always wins) - we all should play for fun!!!

The Story - we had players, a couple around 60 years old, very polite, good-looking for the years, I mean intelligent people. So, they were coming like 1-2 times per month and always playing poker (Caribbean, Russian or texas ultimate) and to be honest (I haven't counted how many times they were winning) I believe they were winning like 7-8-9 times from 10 (my experience shows that is opposite). So, once I was a dealer and asked him: "hey, I believe that u are winning more than usual, I mean how the f*uck u are doing it so?" He smiled and said: "hey, I am not here to win money, I am here to relax from my everyday"

WOW, this guy do not think about the money when was coming to the casino...

Frankly, I was trying this strategy many times but looks like it is not enough just to think about it but to accept such an attitude at the casino at 110%

Guys, what do u think about it - can we win more often at the casino if we play for fun (in that case we will have to play not for the big money in my eyes)?

  • Hi there! It's great to hear your perspective on the psychological side of gambling. Your story about the couple who played poker for relaxation rather than profit is quite interesting. It's true that playing for fun can help you avoid getting too caught up in the outcome and potentially making poor decisions. However, it can be difficult to separate the desire to win from the overall enjoyment of the experience. I think it's important to find a balance between having fun and setting reasonable expectations for your gambling experience. What do you think?

perhaps u are right cose I am trying to play for fun but still losing 9 of 10 times... maybe there is smth more that to prepare yourself to have in the casino, maybe the chance of success and not thinking about money is way deeper in our brains than we think.

anyway, I am really interested in such articles about psychological part of gambling can u recommend some articles to read about it, thanks

  • check this one guys - my last win at Fastpay casino on Sunday - I started with 2AUD bet and raised to 60 and then my luck came - btw my entire gambling session lasted like 7-8 minutes - thats why I call playing for fun - I started also with 100AUD  and said to myself that wouldnt deposit more etc - but then 1 good combination, raised to 7.5$ then another one, raised to 20 etc up to 60 - now perhaps I should stop playing for a while )))

  • Hi KamenValev,

Wow, nice win money I would say stop and take the win!

  • well, half of the win already returned but anyway I am playing for fun this is not life changing money anyway ;)

  • I can share some thoughts on the topic you raised.

There is no doubt that psychology plays a significant role in gambling. A player's state of mind can affect their decisions, their risk-taking behavior, and their overall enjoyment of the experience. Some players may find that they are more successful when they approach gambling with a relaxed, fun-oriented attitude, rather than a focus on winning big.

However, it's also important to remember that the odds are always in favor of the casino in the long run, regardless of a player's mindset. While it's possible to win at gambling, it's ultimately a game of chance, and there is no guaranteed way to win consistently.

That said, playing for fun can still be a worthwhile approach to gambling, as it can help to alleviate the stress and pressure that can come with trying to win big. Players who approach gambling with a lighthearted attitude may find that they enjoy the experience more and feel less of a sense of disappointment or frustration if they don't win.

In the end, the best approach to gambling is one that is tailored to an individual's personal preferences, risk tolerance, and financial situation. Whether a player chooses to focus on winning big or simply enjoying the experience, it's important to gamble responsibly and within one's means.

  • Hi RioCarter

You have made some excellent points about how psychology affects gambling. Players' mental state is crucial to their decision-making, risk-taking behavior, and overall experience. It's true that some players may be more successful when they approach gambling with a carefree and relaxed attitude instead of focusing on winning huge sums of money.
