Including Images and Links in Your Posts

Hi LCB'ers!

I'm not sure if you've notcied but things are a bit different around here 

The new LCB comes with some changes to the process of including images and links in your posts. 

Capturing a screen shot from your desktop computer:

• Press the print screen (PrtScr) key on the keyboard. 
• Open Paint
• At the same time, hold down the CTRL key and press V to paste the screen shot into Paint
• Save the file as a JPG file

Now that you have your screen shot or any image saved, you'll need to upoad it to LCB in one of two ways.

Adding images to your posts

1st way: Upload directly from your desktop by clicking on the 'Attach File' box under Attachments. 

Select your file from its folder location (desktop or pictures), 'Open' and click the 'Submit' button to make your post.

2nd way: Upload your screen shot or pic to a free hosting site like ImageShack, PhotoBucket or TinyPic. Copy the 'Direct Link'. 

You will insert the link into the 'Source' field and click "OK'.

Your image should appar in your post just as it does in this one.

Note: The image tags will no longer work. So you may have had trouble adding an image link like this [IMG]http://url.jpg[/IMG] on the new site. You must post the direct link without the tags.

Adding links to posts

Adding a link is done by selecting the Insert menu or selecting 'Insert/edit Link' icon. Paste your link and click 'OK'.

oh yeah i was wondering about that . I already tried to post some images and tried to link to a page where i found a small bug and was annoyed why it would not link properly. And now it make sense lol. Soooooo thanks for this detailed explanation Froggy.

I had been trying to put a youtube video in the forum but unsuccessful. Then I decided to ask one of the members about the method. I finally got it done.  

I don't post images or links very often so didn't know the procedure had changed until reading this, thanks for the useful guide.

How do you post video from youtube

You could just copy the URL from YouTube and paste it into your post and the video will appear 

This has been so helpful. I knew of the attachments, but I had forgotten about the print screen option. Thanks so much for reminding me, cause it was driving me crazy and also on inserting youtube videos. you know that saying if you don't use it.. you lose it........hahaha that I think is what happened to me.

Just found this thread and thank you for the information. I'm an older dude who is technological "challenged"! 

very interesting i did not seen before you explain , it is very fun to post whatever we want that is not offending !  Free to create is most good about living !  I even try to lurn how to work with so fun pizap site that is very complete to do creation of a lot of image !!!

i am wondering about uploading image.

especially when uploading image from mobile device(android or iphone gallery) including screen shot 

Would it processing some how that not using direct image from the phone?

If geo location still there on uploaded image or not?

A mod told me links weren't allowed on LCB   --confused-

It depends on the link, for instance if you post a referral link that surely is not allowed.
