    The authorities in Honduras have seized a gold-plated, jewel-encrusted AK-47 assault rifle, complete with two silver magazines. The gun, estimated to be worth more than $50,000, is believed to belong to drug traffickers.

    Honduran authorities said the gold-plated rifle had an engraving associated with the Malverde drug gang - which is allegedly connected to Mexico's Zetas cartel.

    I agree it does look awful.  Nothing as ugly as a gun should be adorned with such a thing as gold and jewels.

    Interesting story nonetheless.  I guess they have so much cash, they don't know what to spend it on.

    It's a scary thing when people glorify something they use to kill by adding gold and gems.  It doesn't look cool to me. Horrendous was a good word Johnny.

    To glorify a rifle by making it golden with jewels sounds stupid to me. Well, particularly if that is a rifle which main reason for being so popular is the fact its cheap to buy cheesy

    That one with a folding stock is quite a piece of garbage, very unprecise even on 100m distance, had it when I served in military, got frustrated every time we practiced in shooting range.
