  • Not scary but a great story...

Back in the 1960s when my parents were a young couple, they and their friends would have EPIC Halloween parties!  One year my Dad's friend made an outhouse for his costume - complete with a working door with a cut out moon.  Unfortunately, he measured wrong and couldn't get the outhouse into the house of the couple hosting that year's party.  So, he "parked it" on their front lawn.

As the night went on someone noticed a drunk across the street looking at the outhouse.  He was obviously very confused by what he saw!  So my father decided to play a trick on the drunk.  He exited the house from the back, walked into the front yard and entered the "potty".  He slowly inched it toward the front window and then lifted the window and reentered the house.

Over the course of the next hour or so every party guest, men and women, went INTO the outhouse but NO ONE EVERY CAME OUT!  At least that is what the poor drunk saw.  I wonder if he went on the wagon after that epic Halloween night!!!

I guess this was a scary story...at least it was for the drunk neighbor!

  • What i'm about to share with LCB and Winaday casino is from my own personal experience and every detail really occurred.  My father took a logging job in the mountains of california  when i turned 16 so we moved to a town called North Fork its located dead center of the state. The place we moved into was built in the mid 1800,s  a real Log cabin. Almost immediately things just seemed eerie.  The Fog was dense and cold and would wrap around the property like a prison at night making it impossible  to see 5 feet in any direction.  Then came the truth about this cabin and the family that had built the home and also had passed away there along with there treasure of gold. My younger brother Jack and I  begin digging and got a metal detector hoping we would  find the gold and be rich.  This must have been what caused the spirits to stir and begin trying to scare us away.  You could here the rocking chair at night and dishes being rattled in the sink but the strangest thing these spirits did was slaughter all of our pets inside there cages for us to find .  Including our Rabbits, Peacocks,  and some chickens too.  All our vehicles broke down  and had  to be junked all within a few days of each other.    WE spent 2 1/2 months there and no we never found the gold butt we got the picture we were not suppose to ever find it.  So back to Chowchilla we all went .

  • One Halloween night, a 16 year old girl named May and her friends, Irene, Kate, and Leslie, were out driving to a Halloween party outside of town. So, of course, they took the freeway. The car was slowing down, like it was running out of gas, but the meter said it was full. May and Leslie went to check out the engine. When they opened the hood, there was a hand. A lone bare, hand. They were so frightened they couldn't scream. Leslie reached out to touch it then IT MOVED! This time they both screamed and Irene and Kate ran out the car screaming. They said there was a man with his flesh torn and a missing hand in the back seat. The girls ran and the car was chasing them slowly. May called the her parents and Irene called 911, on their cellular phones as they ran. But when the cops and May's parents came, all four girls were soaking in blood. Not their own blood. The cops found a black gemstone, unidentified, in the driver's seat -- covered with blood. The girls went ahead to the party. The address was just a vacant lot but in that vacant lot were many bloody, black, unidentified gemstones.

    Hope that Spooked you

  • 3 years ago I just moved into a duplex where if you open up the front door, my neighbors front door was about 5 feet away and opened into their house. My neighbors were having a Halloween party and  I had been handing out candy all night to tricker-treaters.  It was just before midnight and there was a knock at my door, I thought it was too late so I ignored it then again another louder knock I answered it, but no one was there.  So I asked my neighbor (who's front door was open)  if she had knocked and where were her kids.  (I thought they were doorbell ditching me)  The kids were asleep, it wasn't her and she didn't see anyone come to my door.  While we were standing outside talking I heard another knock, but it was coming from INSIDE my house.  We both heard it so she turned down the music and everyone at the party was listening and it happened again, but louder.  She proceeds to tell me that she had lights flash on and off in her house that she knew she had turned off and once heard something or someone whisper her name when she was home alone.  Needless to say, I slept at my mothers house that night and never slept there again, I was outta there by Nov 3rd.

  • When I was a kid, my best friend and I were looking at old photos in his house. There was one of a family wedding, a group shot outside our local church. One of the men in the photo had no legs. Not like, was in a wheelchair or anything, but literally in the photo, his legs just stopped at the knee and you could see the huge old slabs of the church — they even matched perfectly with the slabs that were on either side. It was exactly the same as if you were looking at a photo and looked at the wall above his head, rather than below his knees.

Now, I can't blame digital trickery as this photo was WAY too old for that (70s, maybe?). Maybe someone with a working knowledge of photography could explain it.

The weird thing is that the guy in the photo (my friend's uncle) ended up with diabetes and had both legs amputated at the knee years later.

  • I found this story and it brought an really eerie feeling to me cause this is absolutely true what I am going to tell you when I was a little girl about 4 years old I was telling my mom about my great grandma her name was buboo and I remember that she always used to come and get me we would walk down a long path and then she would sit on a large tree stump she had a wand and she would turn me into rabbits and things and we would play for hours and then she would just go away again. Well my mom told me it must be a dream because she passed when I was just 2yrs old. But I was sure that I just played with her. My mom then told me when she passed she didn't know anyone the only person she recognized was me she would cry and say bring me my little kimmie and I was the only one that seemed to sooth her. I said but I know she is still her and my mom said what does great grandma look like and I told her then my mom said hang on I have some old pictures and she went and got them but this is really what happened when we looked at all the pictures my buboo was not in them. Where she was suppose to be was just a blank spot her brothers on one side and sister on the other but all the pictures my mom had she was not there my mom was really upset. about 6 months passed and I said to my mom I was crying and I said that buboo was gone and that I can not play anymore because she not coming back. But I asked my mom for my pictures so I could put them under my pillow my said no the we do not have any pictures with buboo in them but I cried and cried that I want them so my mom very upset said kimmie I will show you buboo is not in them mommy doesn't know what happened to them so she went and got them for me. But this time buboo was there she was in all the pictures my mom had. my mom was scared and didn't want me to have the picture but I still have it to this day and I say good night to my great grandma every now and then. This is a true story and to this day my mom doesn't like to talk about it. can you figure out what happened cause I do not even try any more I am just glad I have pictures for memories.  huh

  • This happened in a house I used to live in. I was 16 at the time. My mom and step dad were dead asleep after coming home from the bars Halloween party.  My brother and sister were both gone.  It was 2 am and I decided to get something to eat.  I didn't turn on any lights as the light from the fridge was adequate.  I was bent down looking for something when I heard my name.  I looked around thru the doorway into the living room and dining room.  No one was there. I went to my parents room and they were both passed out hard.  I forgot about being hungry and ran up to my room.  Still creeps me out

  • Sir Alan Redants was a solidly put togheter man, with a flowing moustache and healthy brown skin obtained from years of hot sun in various deserts and jungles all over the world.

He was not easily frightened, nor did he appear to be frighteded the night he announced he was sending back the souvenir his wife had picked up from a Pharaho´s tomb on their last trip to Egypt. The momento, a piece of bone which had been fashioned into a bracelet, must go back to the tombs, he said, for it´s spirit was endangering the health of his wife, the Lady Lydia.

That night was an experience I shall never forget. Redants had invited five of us to his country home for a little dinner party to send off two of our geologist friends. Things began to happen right after Sir Alan announced that he wanted the bone returned. "My whole household has been in chaos," Sir Alan said, "The servants complain of a ghostly figure wich wanders around at night. Dishes break for no apparent reason, and we´ve had two fires. Lady Lydia says she will take it back herself if it is not returned soon." He went on to explain that they had given the relic away three times, but the new owners had returned it because of the bad luck wich had fallen on them. Back to the tombs seemed the only solution.

Just at that moment a slapping noise sounded and Sir Alan´s head moved to one side in a quick jerk. He put his hand to his cheek. When he took it away there was the unmistakable red print of a hand slap. Standing up, Sir Alan shook his fist in the air. He said, "Now look here, old boy, I´ve taken about all your tommyrot I am going to, I am sending you back, and there´s nothing you can do about it" We all laughed, but before the end of the meal, each guest had received the invisible hand slap!

"Where is this bracelet?" Wetherford, the man who was to be in charge of the expedition asked. "I´m curious to see such an uncanny bit of bone." Without changing expression, Sir Alan said, "Confound it, you can´t see it. Don´t you understad--it doesn´t want to go back so it´s been traveling all over the house-- comes up in the queerest places. Last week I had a strong steel box speceally made. The bracelet is now safe in the box and the box is set into a stone deep in my chamber floor, double chained for safety."

"Such an indestructible spirit should have no difficulty getting at a steel box," I chided, "What about the key? Hasn´t he access to it?"
"That also is chained to my bed," Sir Alan answered. "As for getting it loose, I don´t think so, I´ve got the spirit baffled" He chuckled, "The chains have rattled several times as though someone were trying to loosen it, to no avail. The simple trut, gentlemen, is that the spirit is too much at home in my house. He resents being sent back to his own tomb!"

Everyone laughed again. The whole scene was amusing, but later that night, we had good reason to regret the mockery.

About the middle of the night I heard a nerve wracking scream. My room was just across the hall from Sir Alan´s and it sounded as though it had come from his room. I threw on my dressing robe hurriedly and entered the corridor. Blake and Wetherford had beat me to it and were standing there listening. "Sir Alan?" I asked. "I don´t thisn so." Wetherford replied, "it sounded more like a woman´s scream."

At that instant, Sir Alan bolted out of his room, ignoring us an ran to Lady Lydia´s door. He tried to turn the knob, but the door was locked. He put his shoulder to it, but it was solid oak. He beckoned to us to help. By that time the other guests had awakened and we were able to break the door in. Lady Lydia lay crumpled on the floor, Sir Alan picked her up gently and Blake went to fetch a doctor.

Before the doctor arrived, Lady Lydia regained consciousness, but she never regained her senses. She blubbered incoherently about the spirits and the Pharaohs, and for the rest of her life she was confined to her room with a strong woman to watch over her.

Two months later, after a tempestous and tragic journey, the cursed curio was returned to the tombs from the place where it was originally taken. But the next day, the geologist in charge of the assignment and his assistant disappeared. They were found later, at separate times, roving the hot desert, insane.

Two other guest of that ill-fated dinner have met their deaths in a vilent manner. Sir Alan is now lying across the hall from me, groaning with fever. The doctors do not expect him to last through the night.

I am still alive, but I wish I were not. The ghost of the old Pharaoh is gone, but the memory will be with me as long as I live. One moth ago I fell from a high embankment overlooking the channel and freakishly broke both my arms and legs. My back was also broken in such a manner that I am paralized frot the hips down, I will never get up from my bed.

  • Sorry for this extremely long entry, but I had to post it because this is probably one of the scariest stories I know.  Puts you in the mood for Halloween and being spooked.

This is a true story. Reader beware

She was sophisticated, poised, and cultured.  In retrospect, this should have made them suspicious.  A teacher like her should be presiding over a girl’s school in London or New York, not seeking a position in a small town in Georgia.  But at the time, they were too delighted by her application to ask any questions.
“It will be good for our daughter to learn some culture,” the attorney’s wife told the pastor’s wife.
“And our boy may find some table manners at last,” the pastor’s wife responded with a smile.
School was called into session in the local church shortly after the arrival of the teacher.  And soon, the children were bringing glowing reports home.  “Teacher” was special.  Teacher taught them manners and diction as well as reading, writing and arithmetic.  All the children loved teacher.
The parents were delighted by the progress their children were making at school.  Teacher had been a real find.  A God-send, said the preacher’s wife.
But not everyone in town was so satisfied.  The local ne-er-do well – called Smith – had more sinister stories to tell.
“That woman ain’t natural,” he told the blacksmith, waving a bottle of whisky for emphasis.    “I seen her out in the woods after dark, dancing around a campfire and chanting in a strange language.”
“Nonsense,” the blacksmith retorted, calmly hammering a headed iron bar on his anvil.
“They say she’s got an altar in her room and it ain’t an altar to the Almighty,” Smith insisted, leaning forward and blowing his boozy breath into the blacksmith’s face.
“You’re drunk,” said the blacksmith, lifting the hot iron so it barred the man from coming any closer.  “Go home and sleep it off.”
Smith left the smithy, but he continued to talk wild about the Teacher in the weeks that followed.  During those weeks, a change gradually came over the school children.  The typical high-jinks and pranks that all children played lessened.  Their laughter died away.  And when they did misbehave, it was on a much more ominous scale than before.  Items began to disappear from houses and farms.  Expensive items like jewelry, farm tools, and money.  When children talked back to their parents, there was a hard-edge to their voices, and they did not apologize for their rudeness, even when punished.
“And my daughter lied to me the other day,” the attorney’s wife said to the pastor’s wife in distress.  “I saw her punch her younger brother and steal an apple from him, and she denied it to my face.  She practically called me a liar!”
“The games the children play back in the woods frighten me,” the pastor’s wife confessed.  “They chant in a strange language, and they move in such a strange manner.  Almost like a ritual dance.”
“Could it be something they are learning at school?” asked the attorney’s wife.
“Surely not!  Teacher is such a sweet, sophisticated lady,” said the pastor’s wife.
    But they exchanged uneasy glances.
Smith, on the other hand, was sure.  “That teacher is turning the young’uns to the Devil, that’s what she’s doing,” he proclaimed up and down the streets of the town.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” the preacher told him when they passed in front of the mercantile.
“I ain’t ridiculous.  You are blind,” Smith told him.  “That teacher ought to be burned at the stake, like they burned the witches in Salem.”
The pastor, pale with wrath, ordered Smith out of his sight.  But the ne’er-do-well’s words rang in his mind and would not be pushed away.  And the children continued to behave oddly.  Almost like they were possessed.  He would, the preacher decided reluctantly, have to look into it someday soon.
That day came sooner than he thought.  The very next Monday, his little boy came down with a cold, and his mother kept him home from school.  When the pastor returned from his duties for a late lunch, his wife came running up to him as soon as he entered the door.  She was pale with fright.
“I heard him chanting something over and over again in his bedroom,” she gasped.  “So I crept to the door to listen.  He was saying the Lord’s Prayer backwards!”
The pastor gasped and clutched his Bible to his chest, as goose bumps erupted over his body.  This was positively satanic.  And there was nowhere the boy could have learned such a thing in this town, unless he learned it…at school.
At that moment, the attorney’s wife came bursting in the door behind him.
“Quick pastor, quick,” she cried.  “Smith is running through town with a torch, talking about burning down the school.  The children are still in class!”
The pastor raced out of the house with the two woman at his heels.  They and the other townsfolk who followed them were met by a huge cloud of smoke coming from the direction of the church, where the school children had their lessons.  The building was already ablaze as frantic parents beat at the flames with wet sacks, or threw buckets of water from the pump into the inferno.  Smith could be heard cackling unrepentantly from the far side of the building, which was full of the screams of the trapped students and their teacher.
The fire blazed with a supernatural kind of force, and the pastor thought he heard the sound of the Teacher laughing from within the building when it became apparent that no one could be saved.
The church burnt for several hours, and when it was finally extinguished, there was nothing left.  Mourning parents tried to find something of their children to bury, and Smith wisely disappeared from town, his mission against the works of Satan completed.
The teacher’s burnt body was buried deep in the ground and covered with brick tomb.  The children’s smaller bodies were interred beneath wooden crosses.  Of all the student’s in the school that fall, only the pastor’s small son survived.
To this day, voices can be heard in the graveyard of at Burnt Church, chanting unintelligible words, as the school children and the teacher once chanted in the woods outside town.  Sometimes apparitions are seen, and dark walkers who roam the graveyard at night.  And they say that a brick taken from the grave of the evil teacher can set fire to objects on which they are placed.

  • This really happened to me.

My father died in September of 1995 and I was his only child that wasn't in the room when he took his last breath.  My two brothers and three other sisters were all there.  Anyway, we had the wake and the funeral a few days later and life went on,.  About two months later, I was sitting at the bar in a billiards hall and I was looking out the glass door.  Across the street I saw this tall man with a button up plaid shirt, jeans with a big belt buckle, and brown shoes (everything my dad wore when he was alive).  I swore it was my dad, but I could not see his face because there was something hanging out of the bed of a pickup and that blocked his face.  A girl I grew up was the bartender and she knew my dad.  I asked her to take a look at the tall man across the street and tell me if I was crazy or what.  She looked outside across the street and said "Yeah, that's Tom alright".  My heart skipped a beat but then she started to laugh and said "no, that is not your dad, your dad is dead".  I swear, just for a few moments, my dad was still alive and outside the door of a bar.  Life is weird!!

    Great stories everyone.

  • last Halloween the wife and myself were headed to " heart of darkness" in Waterloo, IA when our truck broke down along side the interstate. we figured we were only a few miles outside of town so we would start walking and then call a taxi to get there. after about thirty minutes of walking a highway patrol officer stopped us and asked what was going on, why was we walking. after explaining it t the man he offered us a ride to the nearest hotel wich was fine wit me. a short while down the road the officer starts talking to himself and rambling on. then he starts swerving lane to lane still muttering to apparently no one. we were freaking out at this point cuz the guy wouldn,t respond to us or any thin. not to mention being locked in the back of a cop car that wasseemingly out of control being driven by an office that was going crazy. only after about 5 mind blowing and terorfying minutes the car comes to an abrupt halt with squealing tires and laughter that came out of no where. the wife started beating on the window trying to break the glass to get out and outa the blue the officer was like " hey! you'll have to pay for that. just a second and i'll come around and let you out." we just sat there staring at him. and e started laughing again.

after a few seconds of listening to the two of us yell, curse, and threaten  him he started to apologize saying " I just couldn't help it, every year I find at least two or three people walking down the inter state on Halloween. and none of them put my little act together with the fact that its Halloween and I'm messing with 'em."

We went scolding him for a few minutes and thenjust started to walk away down the  road. he apologized some more asking if he could still help us out and give us a lift. " only I u sit in back and we drive"  he said he couldn't do that( of course).
we didn't find it to funny at the time but looking back at it it was actually a great prank to scare people I mean who would have expected it from an officer.  We still never got back in the car.

  • This happened in my junior year of high school.

One evening, my mother and stepfather had gone out to some event, maybe it was an extended dinner or a concert, it's hard to remember. I had stayed at home to work on a paper that was due the next day (I was one of those kids who procrastinated until the last minute) and spent the whole night working at the desk in my room. To give you a picture of the room, my desk faces a wall and sits next to a small window that's on the same wall, and from where I sit, my back faces my doorway. While I was working, I was wearing these great headphones that I had gotten for my birthday — the kind that are noise canceling.

My parents left the house around 6:00 PM, and the whole time they were gone, I sat at my desk, blasting music through my headphones and writing my essay. Occasionally, I would take breaks and watch the rain and lightning outside my window (we lived in Houston at the time and there was a big storm that night). I never left my desk.

My parents returned around 11:00 PM. At some point late late in the evening, I had removed my headphones, so when my parents came home (coincidentally just a few minutes after I had taken off my headphones), I clearly heard the garage door open and my parents open the door to the house. Seconds after I hear them enter, I hear my mother shout my name. "Adrian!" she screams, "what on earth happened in here!?" Confused, I get out of my chair and start walking through the house to them. There's only a small hallway that separates my room from the living room. Due to my rush to figure out why my mother was yelling, I paid little attention to the hall and the house. After a few moments, I get to my parents. My mom looks livid. She's pointing at the carpet floor yelling, "Was this you!? Did you have friends over!?" I look down. The carpet is ruined. It's covered in muddy footprints.

I frantically explain to her that I have no idea how those got there, that I spent the whole night at my desk working on my paper. I watch as her face goes from anger, to confusion, to fear. We realize that someone else must have entered the house. Quickly we scan the footprints, trying to make sense of the situation. It only takes us a few moments to figure out where they start: our back door, which we usually left unlocked. Then we noticed something else. The footprints started at the backdoor, but there were no footprints exiting the back door.

We hear something pounding through our house. We hear the front door get torn open, then slammed shut with a sharp WHAM!

We all run into the garage and lock the door. My mom starts shouting at the police through the phone, "Please come quickly! Someone's broken into our house!" After what seems like hours, the police arrive. An officer stays with us in the garage as his partner goes through the house room by room. His partner tells us that it's safe to go back in, that there's no one in the house. Then she asks us a question. She asks us whose room is down the hall to the left. My parents look at me and I tell the officer that it's mine. She asks us to follow her down the hall.

As we go, it's easy to see that the footprints weave through my house from the back door. They go through the living room, through the small hallway, into my parents room (which is down the hall to the right) and then turn around towards my room. They stop in my doorway.

Then the officer points at my door, which I had left open the whole night. On it, in black sharpie, was written the following:

    My Log

    8:47: I see you

8:53: You forgot to lock the back door

    8:59: You seem focused

    9:24: Turn around

    9:47: Look at me

    10:15: Look at me

    10:37: Look at me

    10:49: Look at me

For nearly two hours, someone stood in my doorway watching me. To this day, I shutter to think about what would have happened if I had ever turned around and looked at them.

  • Shirley Ross had just moved into one of two apartments built in a 500-year-old English farmhouse, when her friend named Stella Herbert came from her country for an extended visit in July 1965.

Mrs. Herbert was exhausted from her journey and went to bed early. Sometime later, she awoke to find a young boy dressed in white pajamas, kneeling beside her bed. He stared at her with the saddest eyes she had ever seen. His face was so thin and drawn she was sure that, if he tried to stand up, he would surely keel right over.

The boy's silent expression pleaded with Mrs. Herbert. She sat up in bed and studied his face more carefully. As she did, she heard a voice inside her head: "Call mummy, call mummy. She's in the next room."

Mrs. Herbert knew that the boy wasn't one of the Ross children; they were all grown and living abroad.

She looked at his face again.  His expression was so insistent that she finally said out loud: "Mummy."

Immediately his hands began to claw at her arm.

"Please," his face said. "Please I need your help. Please."

His pleading look upset her so much that her eyes filled with tears.

    "Mummy," she said again.

He reached toward her and placed his hands on her shoulders, as if he were begging her to call his mother again.

"Mummy!" she called in a loud, clear voice.

At that moment, he disappeared. And Mrs. Herbert was so overcome with fatigue that she fell asleep and didn't awake until Mrs. Ross knocked on her door the next morning.

She told Mrs. Ross about her encounter with the boy.

"I never heard a sound," Mrs. Ross said.

"I'm not sure how loudly I was speaking," Mrs. Herbert explained. "I'm sure I thought I was screaming. He was so desperate. The look in his eyes was so pitiful. And when he clawed my arm, the sensation was so vivid that I can still feel it now." She rubbed her forearm.

"I'm sure I would have been quite scared, Mrs. Ross said. "Being a ghost and all."

"But that's the odd part.," Mrs. Herbert replied. "I wasn't frightened at all. I just felt so badly for the boy. "

By evening, Mrs. Herbert was so upset about the boy's visit that Mrs. Ross questioned her next-door neighbor who had lived at Vicarage Farm her entire life.

"Did a little boy ever die in the house?" she asked.

"Yes, my brother Johnnie," the neighbor said.

"Then come next door with me and listen to my friend. She has had an experience you'll want to hear. "

Mrs. Herbert's story upset the neighbor so much that she cried. "You saw Johnnie-my brother-who died when he was five," she said. Forty-four years earlier, in 1921, he had become ill. At that time, the house had not been divided, and Johnnie's bedroom was the one now used by Mrs. Herbert.

"He had meningitis," the neighbor said, "and he became terribly thin. The way you describe him is how he looked before he died. It was such an awful time for all of us. Sometimes he had spells when he seemed quite normal; then there were times when he'd shout with pain and cry and call for Mummy, as if he couldn't bear it."

During the last few months of his life, he lay in his mother's bedroom-the one now used by Mrs. Ross. During that hot summer, his mother and sister took turns placing ice on his forehead in a futile attempt to reduce his temperature. Finally, on August 21st, he died, an emaciated boy of five.

"I can't believe that you saw him," the neighbor said to Mrs. Herbert.

"Oh yes, he was definitely there," Mrs. Herbert said. "It was no dream."

"I'm overjoyed," was all the neighbor could say. That night, and for the rest of her stay at Vicarage Farm, Mrs. Herbert's sleep was undisturbed. The little boy's ghost was never seen again.

  • I suppose i can enter my LONG-ass story into this contest, too, then huh?  Here it is, then:

Intro:  worried    Okay,so, I am just about 36yrs old now, but this little story took place when I was in my early 20's. 1999 thru 2002, to be exact.
****  I had been aware of the stories associated with the Ouija board ever since I was about 4yrs old, and although (most times) the stories were attached to warnings of the real danger believed to be linked to using a Ouija board,my curiosity for the darn thing was always ultra-intense.  Here and there, different sets of friends and i had tried it together, but one of them would always end up admitting being the prankster who had been moving it. I was always thoroughly disappointed with the experience and that one silly friend always completely ruined the event for me.  I soon came to the conclusion that the only way to really know would be to play alone.
**** As a completely naive and foolish young adult, I came across the new Glow-In-The-Dark version of the original Parker Brothers Ouija Board in Toys 'R Us (of all places!!) and just HAD to have it!!  So I bought it and hurried home to FINALLY try the mystifying oracle out, by myself, so that I could find out, once and for all, whether it was all just a bunch of nonsense or not. I was thrilled!
**** The first few attempts were slow and labored, and I was never completely sure that the planchette was in fact moving on its own toward any letters or words. I suspected that  most of the possible movements were due to my fingers being on it; unintentionally putting slight pressure on it which would cause a tiny scoot.  A few more tries, though, and things started flowing swiftly and with unmistakable force.Words,sentences,names,answers-spelled almost TOO quickly for me to keep up sometimes; each letter, symbol, digit or YES/NO was without a doubt,an intentional movement that this...'force' propelled. I finally knew. It was REAL.  I was a tiny bit frightened, but I was fascinated and wholly enchanted by the idea of this connection to the supernatural. I would meticulously complete each step to 'close the portal' tightly at the end of each of my sessions, to ensure the danger was prevented, and felt confident about my skill level in being capable of doing so. Each time i used the Ouija, i noticed that i became more enchanted, and any spare time I had,i desired to 'play' it.  Always by myself, regardless of whether i was in the company of friends or not. I didn't want nor did I need any ruiners to spoil my session!  I had a sure thing going! This went on for several months.
**** So then, being so experienced, such a "learned" scholar I even started using it in the dark. I think that may have been where I officially achieved extra accolades for my degree in Supernatural/Occult Stupidity and Ill-Advised Spiritual Behaviors.  Because then, things began to feel ...yucky. My foolish 'play' began to change into an unnatural, unwelcome presence I could actually FEEL. I realized that I'd NEVER re-closed the portal;only opened the gateway wider and wider with each use. The things began threatening me,and i noticed that it/they constantly used extreme profanity whenever I heard them..through the sound of running water(through pipes/plumbing).  Always a whisper, even when shouting as loud as they could- they shout in LOUD whispers...creepy!!!

***** There is SO MUCH more to this story, but I would actually end up writing a book, filled with my arrogant disregard to each rule of spiritual safety and the consequences which inevitably resulted; subsequent trauma, terror, then recuperation...

The success story is that I earned learning credits by completing this course in supernatural curriculum. However, my beliefs are now undeniable, and my awareness of supernatural reality does not budge- not for :  doubt; science; theories; psychology-NOR any other challenge to its validity. I am no longer "curious",either.

******  ANY-WHO, the moral of the story is:
DO NOT USE THE OUIJA BOARD-ANY OUIJA BOARD- AT ALL. EVER. FOR ANY REASON. ALL OF THE HORROR STORIES ARE TRUE. GOOD SPIRITS DON'T USE OUIJA BOARDS. worn_out
