And I am a little burnt out, cross eyed and brain cells are dying trying to figure out looking at the daily stats.  I just gave up and went for it when I saw, $6K-$8K on the news. Same thinking here, 2Late4Me. With the crazy half-baked BTG hard fork actually happenning TODAY instead of tomorrow, when the fork was originally scheduled for, we might still some see some great turbulences until tomorrow midnight, so worry not --

OH-NO, Jack! I missed it.  I had plans for it. I have been researching on the fork every day-all day. That actually was the reason I predicted so high. My daughter and son-in-law borrowed $1,000 in deposited it in a bitcoin mining account, just as I was workinking on it as wee speak.  And OMG, the site closed down today blacklisted. It was up and running this morning. But I surely did not want to miss the fork. It's too late to deposit and be apart of it now, right? Well I will keep my fingers crossed on my high prediction. Is this affecting the high time investors?  I'm trying to learn, and it's killing my sleep time. I hope I can really captilize and get out quick and sit and watch the end results. My computer CPU's electricity bill are taking a beating.  I'm having to use my iPad , phone and laptop in some instances.  Something chinges every day.

Sorry to hear you bet HIGH on this fork and it didn't go as planned -- hopefully the beating wouldn't be that bad, as this poor smiley got:

The BTG site http://btcgpu.org/ appears to be down right now -- perhaps due to a massive overload?! -- but while it was still up a few hours ago, I noticed that the core block 491,407 was ALREADY mined some time ago, hence sort of ahead of the schedule. So this supposedly means that the fork have already taken place.

This also means that for everyone who HELD any Bitcoin tokens or coins at the right time -- i.e. when the crucial block was mined -- now is the time to sit still and wait until the dust settles to see how they can capitalize on having their coins doubled (NOT the value though, remember!!).

For those who didn't make it this time -- sadly it appears to be too late, guys, sorries. Plus lesson for the next time: DO YOUR HOME WORK AHEAD OF TIME!!

Anyway, I'm sorry for being too busy to do all the research and paint a full picture here. Instead, check our any relevant discussions on reddit and some other related forums(or errr, fora)

p.s. I'd def ditch an idea of trying to mine any cryptocurrencies via standard consumer electronics these days, especially an ipad or a smart phone, coz you'll only pay out more for the electricity, and risk having your precious gadgets melt down coz of all the heavy duty. Just my 5c though.

Another Wednesday passed and that means we have winners of last week's round of our Bitcoin value predicting contest. So just to recap --

Your goal was to estimate a FUTURE value of Bitcoin on Wednesday midnight, at the closing of the day on OCT 25, whereas the deadline for your last week's submissions was Sunday midnight, OCT 22.

Checking Coinbase charts page, I see the number you were all chasing turned out to be: $5,788.02

With this week's hard fork in place -- though with Bitcoin Gold side-kick turning to be a miserable failure so fa, currently sitting slightly over $130 -- we sure saw some great turbulence in Bitcoin value swinging in between $5,200 and $6,200, and spiking over $6k for the first time ever. Crazy huh?!

I didnt complete the roll over with the $125 bonus from the previous week.... but I did complete this weeks $50 guessing bonus.  I managed to get the max cashout of $250!  Which was a very nice surprise :)  The price of bitcoin jumped up soon after I received my withdrawal the next day too, which was a bit of an extra bonus for me!  I'll be back shortly to make my prediction for this week too.  Good luck to everyone with the bitcoin price prediction "lottery" lol and thanks to LCB and Jack for the competition!
