Some interesting Stuff about Halloween
Halloween is the third biggest party day of the year behind New Year’s and Super Bowl Sunday, respectively
Turnips and Beets once served as the original Jack O’ Lanterns.
Halloween is the second most commercially successful Holiday with Christmas being the first. Can you believe that Halloween candy sales average about 2 billion dollars annually
in the United States?
Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America. mmmm
According to superstition if you stand in front of a mirror at midnight, you’ll see the reflection of your future spouse just over your left shoulder.
Legends say if you see a spider on Halloween, it is the spirit of a loved on watching over you
LoL I like this one : You can sprinkle salt and oatmeal on your child’s head to keep him or her from being possessed (anytime, not just Halloween)
In England, white cats instead of black ones are thought to be bad luck. < Can anyone confirm this?
Harry Houdini died on Halloween, in 1926 from peritonitis caused by a ruptured appendix. < Or did something else happen?? Very interesting to research
Put your clothes on inside out and walk backwards on Halloween night to meet a witch... Or a Tree
It is during the Halloween festivitys that about 99% of pumpkins that are marketed domestically, are utilized for the purpose of making Jack O'Lanterns.
Pumpkins also come in white, blue and green. That's kinda neat
There really are so-called vampire bats, but they're not from Transylvania. They live in Central and South America and feed on the blood of cattle, horses and birds. Creepy buggers, watched a discovery
channel special on them
Let's not forget that "Stingy Jack" the myth man behind the Jack O'Lantern was a GAMBLER!!!!!
Thank you for the great contest guys!!
I want to wish everyone a safe, scary and FUN Halloween this year!

Halloween is about our favorite holiday ever. Here is a pic of Halloween at our house. What you can't see in the pic is that there is a large hole dug under the black draped platform where my husband hid and reached out or popped out and scared the bejeebers out of the Trick and Treaters. We think some of them may still be in counseling!

MAKING JACK O' LANTERNS
Just take a golden pumpkin
Of quite the largest size,
Cut all 'round the stem, just so,
Scrape out the inside below,
And cut two holes for eyes.
And now fix a nose beneath,
And such a great big mouth with teeth,
And you've a jack-o'-lantern!
Then fix a tallow candle,
Just big enough to light,
And when it flickers, see him blink,
And when it flares up, see him wink
And smile so broad and bright.
This is the jolliest sort of a fellow,
With cheery face so round and yellow,
This funny jack-o'-lantern.

Jack-o-lanterns
And candy treats.
Costumes galore and
Kids on the street.
Pumpkins are smashed
On every stoop.
Tricks are played
Caution: flaming poop!
All the window
Panes are soaped.
I opt for
Treats (i'm no dope)
And while fun is had by children all.
Let's us big kids thank J-Capital!

This is actually true leavefall although I think it has been twisted to black cats in recent years. I definitely don't like a white cat crossing my path.

To form boogers: Dip and twist the tip of each prtezel stick into the cheese, lift out, wait twenty seconds, then dip again. When cheese lumps reach an appealingly boogerish size, set pretzels, booger down, onto a sheet of waxed paper. Allow finished boogers on a stick to cool at room temperature for ten minutes or until cheese is firm. Gently pull boogers off waxed paper and arrange on a serving platter.

Poem
I sat at the pc just spinning away
the kiddies are down from a long trick or treat day
I could deposit else where but i didnt you see
Jackpot Capital was the best place for me
The wind was howling but scared i was not
The game i was playing was hot hot hot
I heard the doorbell but i could not go
Frozen in place my eyes all a glow
I won the RJ i had chased for a year
My hands were shaking my mind screamed OH DEAR
This cant possibly be all as it seems
I might be just having a really great dream
I went to cash out my excitement didn't last
Laughing behind me were the ghosts of J Cs past
You havent played in a while u really should come
Join all the players who recently won
I woke up then,it just wasn't right
The worse thing of all -it wasn't Halloween night

Late last Saturday night; a young chap was walking home from a club. It was a cold, wet, windy evening, and he was tired and freezing. Most of the streetlights in the area were broken, and the silence was only broken by the occasional sound of a stray cat sifting through a trash can.
Then suddenly he heard a strange noise.....
BUMP..........
Startled by this, he turned, and to his amazement, through the driving rain he saw the faint outline of a large box turning into his road.
BUMP..........
He froze to the spot, he couldn't believe his eyes, as the box approached from the shadows, he was able to make out its shape more clearly....It was a coffin! Not wanting anything to do with this, he put his head down and started walking briskly home.
BUMP..........
He could feel the coffin gaining on him, he started walking faster.........
BUMP..........BUMP..........
The coffin was closing with his every step, he started to jog, but he heard the coffin speed up after him......
BUMP..........BUMP..........BUMP..........
He started to sprint, but so did the coffin .......
BUMP..........BUMP..........BUMP..........BUMP..........
Eventually he made it to his front door, but he knew the coffin was only seconds behind. Fumbling around in his pocket, he pulled out his keys, his hand trembling, he managed to open the lock, he dived inside slamming the front door behind him. He shot into his front room, and slumped into his comfy chair. Suddenly there was a loud crash, as the coffin smashed its way through the front door. The force of the impact broke the lock off the coffin allowing the lid to swing freely on its rusty hinges as it continued its chase.....
BUMP..........SCREECH..........BUMP..........SCREECH..........
In horror the young lad fled again, as fast as his shaking legs could take him he bolted upstairs to the bathroom and locked the door........
HOP..........
The coffin again gave chase up the stairs, across the landing and launched itself at the bathroom door. With an almighty smash, the bathroom door flew off its hinges.....
The coffin stood in the doorway, then started to approach the young, terrified lad.....
BUMP..........SCREECH..........BUMP..........SCREECH..........
In a last ditch attempt to save his skin, he reached for his bathroom cabinet......
He grabbed a bar of Dial soap and threw it at the coffin.......
Still it came ........
BUMP..........SCREECH..........BUMP..........SCREECH..........
He grabbed his can of Right Guard deodorant and threw it ........
Still it came......
BUMP..........SCREECH..........BUMP..........SCREECH..........
He grabbed his first aid kit and threw it ......
Still it came......
BUMP..........SCREECH..........BUMP..........SCREECH..........
He grabbed some Robitussin and threw it........
The coffin stopped............................

Viola's Ghost
In the small West Texas town of Alpine is the grave of a young girl who died long ago. Her name was Viola. If you look hard enough you will find the grave. Her name is on a small cross, and covering the site where her casket lies in the ground is a huge pile of flourescent colored stones. Her mother put the stones there, long ago, as Viola loved to collect and color stones and give them as gifts to all who knew her.
If you go to Viola's grave on Halloween, legend has it, and dare to take one of those colored stones, Viola's ghost will one day rise up and find you. She'll take back the stone you stole and return with it to her grave.
Alpine is a college town, and this legend has been passed down through many many generations of young college students. You can be sure that each Halloween, many are tempted to and some actually do go visit Viola's grave and snatch one of the stones.
No matter how hard they try to keep it, not one student yet has managed to be able to produce the stone they took! (Myself included)
To this day, the pile on her grave is still piled high with the colored stones thegrieving mother gave to her daughter, Viola.

My mom was a very creative spirit. She died last year and I can't hardly bear the thought of Halloween without her. This was her favorite holiday of the year. That may sound crazy but my mom was just that (crazy). I miss her so much! I hope you enjoy the picture.

The Wolf Man comes home one day from a long day at the office. "How was work, dear?" his wife asks. "Listen! I don't want to talk about work!" he shouts. "Okay. Would you like to sit down and eat a nice home cooked meal?" she asks nicely. "Listen!" he shouts again. "I'm not hungry! I don't wanna eat! Alright! Is that alright with you? Can I come home from work and just do my own thing without you forcing food down my throat? huh?" At this moment, the wolf man started growling, and throwing things around the apartment in a mad rage. Looking out the window, his wife sees a full moon and says to herself, "Well, I guess it's that time of the month."

What to play, what to play on Halloween Day?!?!?
Should I wish for a genie or will the game be a meany?
Should I play the count....to increase my account?
Oh the pleasure of Triton's or a Goblins Treasure, those will make my balance go up a measure!
Should I try Paydirt? (although its a flirt!)
Or will the Mayan Queen make me see green?
Oh what to play what to play on Halloween Day,
I think I'll just play a whole lot and hope for a random jackpot!!!
Happy Halloween everyone!!

It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns
we haunt the street
And knock on doors
for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen,
For oh tonight it's Halloween! -

And 1 more:
She comes by night, in fearsome flight,
In garments black as pitch,
the queen of doom upon her broom,
the wild and wicked witch,
a crackling crone with brittle bones
and dessicated limbs,
two evil eyes with warts and sties
and bags about the rims,
a dangling nose, ten twisted toes
and fold of shriveled skin,
cracked and chipped and crackled lips
that frame a toothless grin.
She hurtles by, she sweeps the sky
and hurls a piercing screech.
As she swoops past, a spell is cast
on all her curses reach.
Take care to hide when the wild witch rides
to shriek her evil spell.
What she may do with a word or two
is much too grim to tell. -

The corpse that walks,
its solemn line.
The vampire stalks,
finds blood to dine.
The werewolf howls
at the silver moon.
His human form
what's showing at noon.
The mummy's cries
of pain and loss.
His wraps that smell of must and moss.
The witch that flies,
upon her broom
casting curses
and spelling doom.
The black cat scurries,
hisses and claws
through the graveyard walks his paws. -

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'all's neighborhood
And those whoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell
The foulest stench's in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
for no mere mortal can resist
the evil of the thriller
