  • Sooo a long time ago there was a flood in Tucson, AZ Halloween night... My brothers and I were taking a shortcut across the pauper's field part of the cemetery...THe graves of the paupers were shallow and it was raining for so long that the coffins were popping out of the graves.  My brother accidently stepped in one and his foot went all the way through the rotting wood.  He jumped about 5 feet in the air...I don't think i've ever run so fast in my life!

  • I had a Scary Moment in my life it was a few years ago,it was three hours after midnight in Winter.
I can't sleep this night, and I decided to take a walk, outside it was cold and I ran in a gloomy avenue with trees everywhere and a deathful stillness.I feel like I'm being watched, and I turned around to look, after a few minutes i heard a noise like footsteps and i look around but it was nothing there.I decided to walk back home because i was a litle bit afraid, after a few minutes i felt like someone has touch my hair behind me and it seem like someone whisper in my ear, after this i was really Frightened and i run home.Im sure it was only the Wind, but it was a really creepy event.
I lock my door and fell asleep.

  • When I was six or seven years old, my brother took me downtown to the old theater to see "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" which at that time was the scariest thing I had ever seen.  Sitting there with my brother, so scared that I had to hold his hand, I started seeing smoke.  My brother thought it might be a Halloween prank that the theater was playing, but it turned out something was really burning in the building and the smoke was coming out the big furnace vents right in front of the stage.  We had to leave before the movie was over, (thank goodness).

  • Amityville Horror A True Story~ ~Article by Jason Butler

    On November 13, 1974,
In Amityville, New York  Ronald Defeo burst into Harry's Bar screaming his parents had been shot. Police discovered the bodies of 6 members of the DeFeo family.Father, mother,. and 4 of the 5 Defeo children were found, Face Down, executed in their beds.

Ronald claimed he wasn't home during the murders and only discovered the bodies of his parents prior to arriving at Harry's Bar, But after Police found a gun box for a .35-Marlin Rifle in Ronald's Room, he subsequincially confessed. After a lengthy trial Ronald DeFeo Was found guilty of the heinous murders. And was sentenced to 6 consecutive life sentences.

But There's never been a solid explanation of how just this 1 person acting alone could take the lives of these 6 people in an Upscale residential community and the shots from an unsilenced 35-marlin rifle were never heard. Why the victims showed no sign of struggle all found face down Toxicology showed no signs of the family being drugged and forensics felt the bodies were never moved.

    ~The Lutz Family~

On December 18, 1975, the Lutz family moved into the DeFeo home.
Though it had only been 13 months since the DeFeo murders had occurred, George and Kathleen Lutz thought the Dutch colonial was a lovely home and a steal at $80,000 Never expecting they’d have to leave it all behind 28 days later.

A catholic priest arrived while the Lutz family was unpacking  to bless the family home. As the priest made his way upstairs to the second floor entering the bedroom which had formerly belonged to Marc and John DeFeo, he began sprinkling holy water at which point an unseen voice told the priest "Get out!"  Which he hastily did.

The Priest did not tell the Lutz family about the voice,

But he did warn them " Do not use it the upstair room as a bedroom, and not do not let anyone sleep in there.”  Although ominous, the Lutz family abided by the words of the priest and turned the room into a sewing room.

From the very first night they moved in, the family claimed they felt strange sensations. Within days the family's personality had drastically changed arguments ensued.

George was plagued by a constant chill and spent all his time feeding the fire place
George also noticed a change in his grooming habits and his and Kathy's health declined drastically.

The Lutz's daughter began spending all her time in her room playing with an imaginary friend. She described as red eyed pig called Jodie, who could transform not only shape but size at times being larger than the house.Jodie also claimed she could not be seen by anyone unless she wanted them to..

Mysterious foul odors would emanate from different locations of the house. Black stains appeared on the toilets and ceramic fixtures. Kathy was touched by an unseen force and a
Green gelatin substance would appear throughout the house.

Hundreds of flies appeared in the sewing room despite it being the dead of winter. George would wake up nightly at 3:15 a.m. which coincided with the time the police felt the Defoe’s were murdered

George also awoke one night to witness his wife transform into a 90‑year‑old hag and the next night she began levitating off the bed. The Lutz family tried on numerous occasions to contacted the Catholic priest Only to find the phones would cut out whenever they would try to call.

After failing to get the priest to return, the family took matters into their own hands. Armed with a crucifix, they walked throughout the house reciting the Lord's Prayer. A chorus of voices erupted in response, asking them, "Will you stop?"

The final night was reported to be the worst, banging and wrappings as loud as a marching bands emanated throughout the house, furniture being moved by its own accord, and the children being terrorized .

After 28 days in the DeFeo home, the family claimed they could take no more.
They grabbed only a few belongings and fled the house, taking shelter at Kathy Lutz's mother's home in nearby Babylon.

20 days after the Lutz's fled Paranormal Investigators Ed & Lorraine Warren were called in by Marvin Scott a news reporter with channel 5 NY who had covered the Amityville story and worked on a prior investigation with the Warrens.

A team of reporters, investigators, and parapsychologist’s were assembled by Ed Warren and met at the home at 112 Ocean Avenue., the Lutz family refused to re-enter the home during the investigation

During the investigation Ed was physically pushed to the floor while using some religious provocation in the basement, Lorraine was also overwhelmed by the sense of a Demonic presence and was plagued by her psychic impressions of the Defeo Families bodies laid along the floor covered in white sheets, and a sense of physically being pushed back

The research team also captured an image of spirit that appeared as a little boy peering from the second floor.  The land was also found to be used by John Ketchum . John Ketchum was a practicing black magician and had a cottage on the land prior to the construct of the Dutch Colonial in 1924. John requested that his remains be buried on that property and they remain there till this day

The Shinicock Indians also at one time had an enclosure on this land that was used to house the sick, and the mad,  those in this enclosure were left to die. The Warrens believed that the suffering there had left the property with a very negative energy and dark history. And that Such a negative history was a magnet for demonic spirits and the preternatural.

The Warrens believe these energies directly impacted the lives of both the Defoe’s and the Lutz's.  The Warrens retrieved a handful of the Lutz's earthly possessions and deed for the property The Lutz's sold the rest of their belongings and relocated to California.

The  Ocean Avenue home that was once purchased for $80,000 in 1975 by the Lutz family, sold for $950.000.00 in 2010, and is again on the market.  There have been no further reports of activity from recent residents.

  • To be honest, I can tell you first-hand freakier stories, but I have pushed the limit tonight, the longer I sit here in the cold dark by myself dwelling on this I am stirring up dark negative energy that attracts darker more negative energy that isn't welcome here so perhaps later........... ok I am off to go watch Disney Princess movies now... lol

  • “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door —
    Only this, and nothing more."

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; — vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow — sorrow for the lost Lenore —
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore —
    Nameless here for evermore.

And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
    Thrilled me — filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating,
Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door —
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; —
This it is, and nothing more."

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
    Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you"— here I opened wide the door; —
    Darkness there, and nothing more.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
    Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore?"
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!" —
    Merely this, and nothing more...

    So who is this 'Lenore!'

I did some extensive research and I believe I found Lenore..

  • About 10 years ago I was invited to a Halloween party at my Aunts. I had been preoccupied with taking my ex to court and I didn't have a costume. ,My brother is excellent with make up effects and so I asked him to put a bullet hole in the middle of my forehead and I went as the "Ex Who Tried To Collect Child Support". I wish I could find the pictures!
  • When I was a child we would frequently get calls for a woman named Mindy.  Didn't seem like a big deal, she had the same last name as us.

When we moved across the city and phone books stopped being the go-to for finding somebody's number, the calls for Mindy gradually stopped.

About 4 years ago on Halloween she popped up in our lives again.  I was driving home from work and was greeted by a horrific car wreck at the turn to my house.  Two cars had collided and one had wrapped itself around the signage pole that had our house number on it.

Several days later we get a call from the police.  They asked if Mindy was at this residence.  Her car was found wrapped around a pole - down the street from my house and she was nowhere to be found at the accident site.  Haven't heard anything about her since.

    Mindy, where are you...

  • Once upon a time there were two brothers who lived in a lonely house in a very lonely part of Scotland. An old woman used to do the cooking, and there was no one else, unless we count her cat and their own dogs, within miles of them.

One autumn afternoon the elder of the two, whom we will call Elshender, said he would not go out - so the younger one, Fergus, went alone to follow the path where they had been shooting the day before, far across the mountains.

He meant to return home before the early sunset - however, he did not do so, and Elshender became very uneasy as he watched and waited in vain till long after their usual suppertime. At last Fergus returned, wet and exhausted, nor did he explain why he was so late.

But after supper when the two brothers were seated before the fire, on which the peat crackled cheerfully, the dogs lying at their feet, and the old woman's black cat sitting gravely with half-shut eyes on the hearth between them, Fergus recovered himself and began to tell his adventures.

"You must be wondering," said he, "what made me so late. I have had a very, very strange adventure to-day. I hardly know what to say about it. I went, as I told you I should, along our yesterday's track. A mountain fog came on just as I was about to turn homewards, and I completely lost my way. I wandered about for a long time not knowing where I was, till at last I saw a light, and made for it, hoping to get help.

"As I came near it, it disappeared, and I found myself close to an old oak tree. I climbed into the branches the better to look for the light, and, behold! there it was right beneath me, inside the hollow trunk of the tree. I seemed to be looking down into a church, where a funeral was taking place. I heard singing, and saw a coffin surrounded by torches, all carried by--But I know you won't believe me, Elshender, if I tell you!"

His brother eagerly begged him to go on, and threw a dry peat on the fire to encourage him. The dogs were sleeping quietly, but the cat was sitting up, and seemed to be listening just as carefully and cannily as Elshender himself. Both brothers, indeed, turned their eyes on the cat as Fergus took up his story.

"Yes," he continued, "it is as true as I sit here. The coffin and the torches were both carried by CATS, and upon the coffin were marked a crown and a scepter!"

He got no farther, for the black cat started up, shrieking:--

"My stars! old Peter's dead, and I'm the King o' the Cats!"--Then rushed up the chimney, and was seen no more.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

  • The doll faces, freak me out, i will probably end up doing this again this year. Something about dolls have always scare me. When I was younger, My room was filled with dolls including 2 antique life size dolls. I feel like its going to bite me in the ass for saying it out loud but I hated those dolls! I had to pretend I liked them so they wouldn't get me, lol. I would fall out of the bed at night because Id put every stuffed animal and doll in my bed because i couldnt leave any out and hurt their feeling.  My mom made the mistake of telling me that my dolls come alive and have tea parties in the middle of the night (she denies ever saying that to this day but when something screws with your head that bad you dont forget details, lol) I had this fricken clown lamp in my room. it was a swag lamp, a huge blow up clown head that went around the lamp and one night I woke up and my Baby Krissy doll was swinging on it. No lie. lol
  • I love the zipper faces that have come about in recent years, hope to try one out, maybe next year! This clown one, omg, that is totally wicked! Nowdays all you have to do is go on you tube and watch tutorials.

  • Last night a friend rushed me out of the house to catch the opening act at a local bar’s music night. After a few drinks I realized my phone wasn’t in my pocket. I checked the table we were sitting at, the bar, the bathrooms, and after no luck I used my friend’s phone to call mine.
After two rings someone answered, gave out a low raspy giggle, and hung up. They didn’t answer again. I eventually gave it up as a lost cause and headed home.
I found my phone laying on my night stand, right where I left it.

  • Head bowed down

Skin crawling, time slowly ticking by

Glassed eyes watching with a frown of macabre wonder

Frost on what is a small windowed door

Howling wind gusts down over occupied chambers

The smell of a hundred bodies fur-meant the air

The wicked shrill of a warning is heard

As the shuffling sound of many pairs of feet scurry all at once

Could this be a demented dream  huh dizzy

No, just another day at work

  • My previous home was at the end of a small cul de sac and backed to an elementary school.  We had no neighbors in back and the ones to the side were out of sight when in the back yard.  It was totally private and dark back there.  My boyfriend had built an attached room to the side and rear of the detached garage.  We lived in the big room off the rear and the side room was a recreational room.  Our room (not the house) had been burglarized, which had both of us on edge to say the least.  About a week later, I came home from work and noticed I was the only one home.  I had gone into the house to get something before going out to the garage..  As I walked past the front of the recreational room, I noticed a man of tall stature  lying on his side on the floor at the back of the room.  Now mind you, this door led to the sliding glass door which was the back door to my room.  Immediately I thought possibly the burglars had returned and were waiting for me.  Frantically, I tried to call my boyfriend but got no answer.  So I called a friend of ours to come over to have a look.  I was too scared to go into the garage to see if anyone else was around..  My friend arrived, and I showed him where this person was lying.  It was pretty dark by this time but the moon was bright so he could somewhat see the body.  He, too, thought the same thing I did - a freakin dead person!  I proceeded to walk into the house to call 911 when he yelled to me to STOP and come back over there.  He said, "that;s not a dead person" to which  I replied, "yes it is".  He said no it isn't and started to walk over to it.  It turns out the person lying on the floor was a life-sized cardboard statue of Clint Eastwood that my boyfriend had.  It had somehow fallen over and landed perfectly across the doorway.  What started out as one of the scariest moments of my life turned out to be one of the funniest!  We still laugh about that to this day.  And, this story is 100% true.  lol

  • Quite an impressive collection of both spooky stories and pics so far! Good job, LCB'ers

  •       When my daughter, Abbey, was about four years old, she had an imaginary friend named Bob. She talked to him like he was standing next to her every time she played. I thought it was just a normal phase little ones go through so I let her imagine away with Bobs company.
When she turned five, we were watching old home movies of my great grandpa, who had passed away years before my Abbey was born. Watching with the whole family in the room, she turned, looked at me and pointed at the screen right at great grandpa and said excitedly, "THERE'S BOB!!!!" The hair on my neck stood straight up when I realized that Bob is short for Robert and great grandpa's name was Robert "Bob" Rackley.  _A_ (~/~) True story. Hope ya'll enjoyed it!!                      Happy Halloween!!!

  • Not scary but funny...

When my son Marc was 5 and his aunt (yes aunt) was 6 we were traveling my neighborhood doing the Trick or Treat thing.  We approached a house whose porch railing was covered with carved pumpkins lit with candles. The nice lady answers the door. Marc says "Trick or Treat" and gets his goodies.  Mary walked to the door but didn't say anything. The lady very sweetly asked her, "What do you say, Sweetie?"  Mary replied "Your pumpkin is on fire". The top of one of the pumpkins was billowing black smoke.

Out of the mouth of babies!

Marc is now 31 and Mary is 32. Memories..........

  • My mum had a freaky ghostly encounter  when she was a 10 yr old girl living in vietnam,  which she says still haunts her till this day

she lived in a small village in south vietnam and grew up there during the vietnam war.
her and her dad would walk to and from church everyweek  but on this particular day her dad had been called back for a meeting so she had to walk home by herself.

the sun was going down and as she was walking down the dirt road towards  her house  she saw out of nowhere, a white dog with a red fireball on his back.  She said the size of the blazing fireball was a bit smaller than a basketball and it was just floating above the dogs body. she was so freaked out she dropped all her belongings and ran quickly home.

she believed it was a ghost because a so many people were being murdered during that time, many of whom their bodies were never recovered by their relatives so their spirits were floating around becoz they were never laid to rest.

i was  always sceptical of her story until i  had an experience of my own a few years ago which i wrote about  in last years halloween contest

this is the link if u r interested in reading it:

Errr, blue just notified me on a small mistake I made by mixing up two different LCB members, amplee50 and Leon21, while the latter is the true winner for posting the true scary Lenore pic and quoting one of my favorite spooky stories, Raven by A.E. Poe.

On the other hand, unlike the last one amplee50 didn't participate in the Halloween contest this year. Otherwise I'm sure we'd have a prize for her as well
    ;)

    Sorry again for the mixup!
