I didn't know there was a name for it but I did argue against the idea for quite a while.
I cannot seem to get the point of paying real money for something that is exactly a demo play. We do have a free play games made by most of the software makers in the industry, that one can play anonymously and absolutely free here on lcb. And if you lose all your credits you just need to refresh the page and start all over, again absolutely free.
On the contrary, you have for example sites offering slots from High5 gaming, Novomatic, WMS etc that:
- you need to register on their site
- you start with 0 points of some kind and only few games are available, you need to get more point by wagering and winning on those few games to unlock more
- because minimum bet is riicoulously high, you tend to lose your free given balance very fast
- once you lose free balance you need to buy credits with real money, and prices are hardly symbolic
- what you gain in the end is exactly the same thing as when playing demo games on lcb or on various online casinos that offer demo play.
All thing considered, I'm happy to pass on this concept as I feel its a highway robbery, and I pretty much think the same about most browser based games (gambling or non gambling type) that are supposedly free play. Essentially, if I'm paying I wanna pay, gamble my money and win, and if its free than let it be trully free with no strings attached.
