Usually, when we select an online casino to be tested as a part of the “From the Players for the Players” project, we mainly focus on the efficiency in processing different payment methods and customer support responsiveness. Sometimes it happens that we encounter some other features, red flags or important facts which we make sure to document and share.
Non-US-friendly Pribet Casino was tested back in 2023 and the reason we’re sharing the outcome know is simple- we wanted to give them time to provide an explanation for fake games discovered. That’s right, this crypto-friendly online casino hosted bogus games at the time of testing, but luckily our sharp-eyed detectives spotted that.
Before unveiling all the details of the investigation of Pribet Casino, why don’t you take a look at the test rundown?
Presenting itself as one of the world’s leading online sportsbooks, Pribet Casino is a non-US-friendly operator licensed by Curacao and focused on providing a crypto gambling platform with a wide variety of software providers, slots and live dealer games.
Paying attention to the section with promotions, players can sport versatile campaigns with extra spins, and bonus cash, plus some interesting tournaments. A loyalty club is included as well, offering benefits such as elevated withdrawal limits, birthday treats, tailored promos, and so on.
However, during our testing of this casino, we encountered some games that appeared to be fake, which we will discuss in more detail below.
Our tester’s journey with Pribet Casino started on July 25, 2023, when he registered with this Curacao-licensed operator.
During the first stage, he entered his e-mail, username, and password, while the second phase required him to provide his first and last name, country, currency, cellphone, and date of birth.
Players should know that:
“3.15. Accounts having no recorded activity for a period of 6 months are considered inactive. Should an account be inactive for 6 consecutive months or longer (no deposit and betting/gaming activity), PriBet reserves all rights to terminate the customer's account, and therefore all outstanding balances are forfeited.”
Also, an account can be closed or terminated without any explanation in case the operator suspects “foul play”. In that case, outstanding bets will be honored. It is possible to request the closure of the account yourself, but no sooner than 90 days after the first successful deposit.
Once the registration was finished, the next thing to do was to add funds to the balance to explore some games. He wanted to deposit USD 200 via Bitcoin. Expressed in the cryptocurrency of his choice, the amount was 0.00687881 BTC.
While waiting for the funds to be credited to his casino balance, the tester completed his profile and added the address, city, postcode, and country.
Available deposit methods include VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Skrill, Neteller, AstroPay, vouchers, and a variety of cryptocurrencies. The minimum deposit amount is EUR 10.
With USD 200.69 on his balance, the next thing to do was to play some games. 40 Super Blazing Sevens by GameArt was the ice-breaking game and a wise choice as it was marked with multiple wins.
Safari Gems from the same studio was the next installment he launched, followed by Koschei the Deathless by Spinomenal and Eggz! POWER COMBO by All41 Studios. After these colorful adventures, he returned to 40 Super Blazing Sevens.
While exploring the abovementioned games, the tester spotted nothing that seemed suspicious, but as he kept digging deeper, he encountered certain irregularities.
While NetEnt and Pragmatic games appeared genuine, Playtech games seemed to be hosted on a certain depot888.com domain, while Play’n GO and others were hosted on igamingplatform.co domain There exists the igamingplatform.com and looks like a genuine provider, but we couldn’t verify the authenticity of the .co variant.
This raised concerns about whether all the games were genuine or if something unusual was happening that required further explanation.
Due to being hosted on non-official servers, it was challenging to confirm whether the games were fake or the result of a partnership with a lesser-known aggregator. Pribet Casino should have the answers.
When our tester shared these findings, we contacted the casino in early September 2023 to inform them of the discovery. The representative informed us that the inquiry had been forwarded to their team, and we would be updated with any developments.
However, over a year later, we still have not received a response on this matter. When we revisited the platform in August 2024, we noticed that the games of questionable origin had been removed.
At some point, while playing games, the tester decided to complete ID verification. He typed in his phone number, and a link was forwarded to him shortly after. He followed the instructions.
The first thing he did was to upload the front and the back of his ID card and then complete a face verification by using his webcam.
As soon as he finished so, the tester was notified that his documents were successfully submitted.
He then proceeded to upload a proof of address in the form of a utility bill and was informed that his identity was verified, as the casino had validated his image and ID card.
“7.3.10. Each withdrawal goes through an identity verification process and certain deposit methods might require additional verification; therefore, customers might be asked to provide additional documents. This might result in some delay in the withdrawal confirmation.”
Having finished the ID verification, the tester went on to make a withdrawal request for $72 in BTC. Two days later, an e-mail arrived, confirming that the tester’s account security had been achieved, so the processing of the transaction was successful.
This was visible in the cashier as well.
Expressed in Bitcoin, the tester received 0.00242787 BTC on July 27, 2023.
According to the Terms, it is necessary to wager a deposit 5x before placing a withdrawal request. The minimum cashout amount is EUR 10, while the weekly maximum is limited to EUR 5,000.
If multiple withdrawals are requested during a 30-day timeframe, the operator may charge a fee of up to 8% of the cashout amount. The max winnings per day shouldn’t exceed EUR 100,000.
Withdrawal methods are more or less similar to those a player can use to fund the account. The availability may vary from one country to another. Also, whenever possible cashout will be processed back to the same method as the one a player has used to fund the account.
Although the Terms note that a fee may be charged for processing withdrawals, our tester wasn’t charged any.
“7.3.25. If the level of deposits and withdrawals does not correspond to a sufficient volume of play, PriBet may decide to pass on associated charges to the customer. The customer is responsible for paying any associated charges to PriBet, either on-demand or where there are sufficient funds in his/her gaming account by debiting these charges from it.”
Although the test itself didn't reveal any issues, and the situation with counterfeit games seems to have been resolved, it is still documented that the operator previously hosted games whose authenticity we could not confirm.
Now, what inspired us to take a closer look (and we’re glad we did so) was the similar situation with Zodiacbet Casino, its sister site. Exploring the platform, we came across suspicious-looking games presented as content delivered by NetEnt and Novomatic, but it turned out products weren’t genuine.
