Amid a wave after wave of sexual misconduct allegations that sprung up last week as a result of a Wall Street Journal investigation, Steve Wynn – one of the most pivotal and significant casino moguls in the world – has decided to resign from his position of a chairman and chief executive of Wynn Resorts.
The company's board had accepted Wynn's resignation “with reluctance” - as nonexecutive director of the board, Boone Wayson puts it: “Steve Wynn is an industry giant. He is a philanthropist and a beloved leader and visionary. He played the pivotal role in transforming Las Vegas into the entertainment destination it is today.”
76-year-old Wynn himself has denied that he has coerced multiple female co-workers into sex, calling the accusations against him “preposterous.” He added that he decided to step down because there is now an environment “in which a rush to judgment takes precedence over everything else, including the facts.”
The new CEO of Wynn Resorts will be Matt Maddox, who joined the company in 2002 and is currently the president of Wynn Resorts.
Allegations against Wynn claim that he has used his position to force female co-workers and employees into all sorts of lewd sexual behavior against their will for decades. Some of the accusations claim that he was pressuring them to undress in front of him, massage him and even masturbate or have sex with him. One of the victims, a manicurist who went to see him for an appointment in 2005, claims Wynn forced her to have sex with him on the massage table and after she filed an HR report, she was offered $7.5 million in settlement money by Wynn.
Steve Wynn was also a Republican Party donor and left the finance chairman position in the Republican National Committee one day after the allegations were published. Also, another separate investigation will be soon conducted by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission since Wynn has begun building a multibillion-dollar casino in the vicinity of Boston.

As I remember, Steve Wynn is one of the best friends of Donald Trump, right ? Why did he do it to girls ? These rich people could have had some better relationship. Anyway, why the heck this man called manicurist ? For manicuring him ? Strange. She was offered $7.5 million in settlement, that is whole lot more than...

I have got to say that in all my time here at LCB, I have never been more disappointed than I am today, reading from your own thoughts, the position you are taking on sexual harassment, Geno. Ava's comments were so eloquent, me restating them is hardly necessary. Just to clarify, "forced sex or rape are definitely a no-no."...

Ava's comments were so eloquent, me restating them is hardly necessary. Just to clarify, "forced sex or rape are definitely a no-no." They are not a no-no, they are a felony!

Geno - While I adore you and your articles I think you are missing an important point here. I am not jumping on a bandwagon and realize some sexual harassment cases are ridiculous. However, I hope you see the other side of the coin as well. When a woman, for example, is interested in a high power job and her employer pinches...

However, I hope you see the other side of the coin as well. When a woman, for example, is interested in a high power job and her employer pinches her on the ass in the process it not rape but still highly disrespectful and a violation of their body. Also, sex is more than a "tickle", for many, it is a deeply emotional connection.

I once interviewed a stunningly attractive actress named June Wilkerson. During the interview she gave me one of the most intriguing quotes I ever published: 'Sex is nothing but a big tickle.' While forced sex or rape are definitely a no-no, there are some women who through drugs or alcohol manage to place themselves in a compromising position. Later they are embarrassed, shamed or just angry that it happened. The laws governing sex and sexual behavior need to be changed in this country because sex, indeed, is nothing more than a big tickle.

Couldn't agree more about the news and social media. It's becoming ridiculous. Steve Wynn would be dragged through the mud no matter what. Whether truth or lies, his reputation is tarnished. And to step down...I think he should've held his ground if there's nothing to hide. Media ain't gonna leave him alone anyway. The...

And to step down...I think he should've held his ground if there's nothing to hide. Media ain't gonna leave him alone anyway. The length of time that has passed is neither here nor there, but if true, it's scary that victims not only took the abuse but held the secret for so long.

Why Geno? Because the news and social media are relentless. Just like everything that is going on right now in our world and especially our country. CNN is the biggest culprit, Even when it is something good they make it UGLY! No one can win against that type of pressure. Nevertheless, regardless if it is old news or...

CNN is the biggest culprit, Even when it is something good they make it UGLY! No one can win against that type of pressure. Nevertheless, regardless if it is old news or not does not give him a free pass to walk around like an untouchable big wig......he should pay the piper regardless of how old the evidence is. There is one thing that does concern me. It's the small percentage of women coming out of the woodwork claiming harassment when maybe they were actually a willing participant crying wolf for notoriety or money.? Geez, I hope not! That is what makes it tough for the real victims.

When will a self-made successful person stand up for himself and fight back when decades old charges are made public? Steve Wynn should not have resigned. He should have ignored the allegations and went on with his business interests and his life.

Wow, this is surely becoming an epidemic. It is about time women spoke up against such harassment. This type of perturbation to secure employment or move up the corporate ladder sets women back 100 years. Or should I say it hasn't set us back instead we still haven't moved forward...... Very informative news article...

I mean there does seem to be a band wagon of these type of things popping up all over the place these days. However, when you have instances of settlements and people reporting the misconduct promptly after... its almost hard to even consider he might be innocent
