Back PokerStars’ Megastack Series Headed for New Jersey

It’s official; PokerStars has announced that is Megastack series is coming to the United States, by way of Atlantic City, New Jersey. In fact, the city’s Resorts Casino Hotel has already had a Sunday Special Live event added to its tournament schedule, which will occur between Friday, October 6th and Sunday October 8th. The event is specifically geared toward recreational players, and gets its name from the Sunday Special online event, which is considered the most popular weekly tournament on PokerStarsNJ.com. Participants are given the opportunity to show off their skills for a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The inspired event receives a serious boost, with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. Additionally, competitors can gain entry with a $220 buy-in event. An opportunity to qualify for the event online is available as well. Online buy-ins begin at $0.50.

Chief executive and president of Resorts Casino Hotel, Mark Giannantonio, commented, “We are excited to host the first-ever Sunday Special Live New Jersey, and we look forward to welcoming players to the property for an exciting gaming experience.”

Chris Moneymaker, Team PokerStars Pro, added, "PokerStars Megastack is the perfect opportunity for players to enjoy a great live poker experience at an affordable buy-in to see if they can turn a MEGASTACK into a mega prize. Players can expect an awesome poker experience and more importantly get together with friends to play poker while having fun."

The Megastack series also made its way to the UK’s Hippodrome Casino back in April. It now hosts events in Ireland, Belgium, Malta and France.
