Then suddenly bitcoin jumped up to 60k and it stayed up in that ball park for the better part of 4 years now. At first I found it to get myself to lower my bets when playing in the currency of bitcoin because I had developed such a consistent betting strategy based in the MBTC format. So despite the fact that the value of betting .1-.4 mbtc per spin had become so much more almost overnight than it had always been, I still couldn't play In MBTC unless I was betting within that same strategy I had developed. I became obsessed with the idea that If I can keep reaching the tipple digits in MBTC as often as I would before using the same strategy I was using, then now instead of it just being a really good day once I got up there, if I can do it now then it would be absolutely life changing.. Well, it seemed like a realistic goal to achieve at the time for the gambler logic In my mind but it didn't take very long to realize that just because the numbers are the same on the screen when Im playing does not mean that the money I had for funding those triple digit days before would be the same. That was a very tough stretch for me to say the least!

This is a story as a gambler we have all heard many times although not on this grand a scale. I was upset with myself for dumping 1000 usd back into Yabby Casino a few months ago so i cant imagine this scenario. Sorry for your loss at least you walked away with almost 8 grand. That’s so crazy taking it from 5 to 100k I hate that America isn’t as gambling friendly as Canada it’s quit depressing but that’s one awesome story hopefully one day I’ll get a win like that and actually withdraw I’m notorious for giving it back…

It's similar to Aristocrat's "Lightning Link" games. So I started wagering at $50/spin, which is the max bet for this particular game. I figured, "what the halleluiah"... So after a quick $500 (10 spins), I hit the "orb bonus", in it had a "Major" worth $5k, and by the time it had all been counted the bonus netted almost $9k. Needless to say, I was stunned. I started playing a game called Cash Vault (NetEnt/Red Tiger) and hit the cash volt symbols for numerous $2,500 hits, and then a $25,000 hit. I had my balance upwards of $82k. And then I got greedy... I started playing IGT's Cat's at the max bet of $900/spin, and hit for nothing. It was awful. Gambler's panic set in, and you know the thoughts... "sooner or later, this will hit good." It didn't haha... When I bottomed out at a balance of $20,000 I called the casino, arranged to pick up my winnings at the cashier on site, and be thankful for what I had won. I can only say that when you hit that initial big hit that tells you right then to cash out. DO IT!!!! but of course I for the most part have not. what takes over i can not give it a name but it kind of sucks.

OH MY GOD! Did you really lose that much money? I can imagine the concept of losing so much cash. But at least you finish up for the day with some good news and manage to cash a pretty sum. I hope that someday I will as lucky you. Thank you for this story.

It's a beautiful, sad story, I'm sorry for you penderhippy. winning is good but you have to know when to stop and take your winnings. In the past I have been lucky to suddenly win a few thousand dollars on slots, feeling lucky I continued to play with big bets without control, the result all lost.

I think one of the most important parts of the process in gambling is being able to cope with winning. "Winners know when to quit," is one of my favorite cliches when it comes to being in the black during a gambling session. Winning that much with the house's money and then losing it again must have been a crushing disappointment though.

wow this was comforting in SO many ways. I mean, I didn't particularly enjoy reading of the squandering of a win but it's good to know I'm not the only one who falls victim to "the trance" and loses the majority of a big win. Good story!
