Back Norsk Tipping and Playtech Extend Partnership

Videobet, subsidiary of the industry's leading iGaming brand, Playtech, has recently agreed a decade-long contract extension with Norsk Tipping, Norway's national lottery provider.

In line with the signed deal, Videobet and Playtech will continue delivering technology to Norsk Tipping's video lottery terminal (VLT) gaming system for the next ten years.

This means that the companies' collaboration will last for 26 years at least...

...for the two embarked on their road together sixteen years ago, in 2003. Videobet's VLT products can be enjoyed in over 1,000 retail shops all across Norway.

Obvious Satisfaction With Alliance

Playtech's official press release states that more than ten years of Videobet content's successful operation by the system's open architecture is now being extended with the addition of Remote Game Servers support.

Hans Erland Ringsvold, Norsk Tipping's Head of Gaming Operations, said of the partnership extension:

“We are very happy with the technology and services provided by Playtech and the Videobet team. We are confident that their VLT technology coupled with their professional expertise and experience from a wide range of markets will continue to provide great value for Norsk Tipping and ensure that we can fulfil our future VLT strategy and business objectives.”

In 2018, Videobet has, jointly with Norsk, run an HTML5 game pilot – to major success.

Focus on Retail

Shimon Akad, Playtech's Chief Operating Officer, remarked that retail will remain a “core focus” for the company that looks forward to providing Norsk with their strategic roadmap.

He added: “For more than 15 years we have successfully supported Norsk Tipping in delivering a VLT program for the Norwegian market. We are excited to continue supporting them in the next 10 years, ensuring their VLT program remains fit for the market and provides a long-term sustainable offering that also caters to new generations of players.”

Taking Their Share of Sports Betting

Adding to Playtech's retail ambitions, another very significant strengthening of an alliance with Paddy Power Betfair was accomplished in late January.

The deal concerns the supplier's presence in the retail sports betting market and outlines that their BGT Sports subsidiary will continue delivering software solutions to UK's betting titan and their self-service betting terminals.

BGT Sports betting terminals have registered annual double-digit growth in 2018, which John Pettit, subsidiary's Chief Commercial Officer, sees as their major strength in a time of “increased stress for land-based sports betting.”

He added that this partnership allows a “continuation in investing in innovation and demonstrates faith in future of retail betting.”
