One thing all bingo players can agree on is that they – well, we – absolutely love the nice and often crucial benefit of becoming a newbie on a bingo site: the no deposit bonus offered to newly registered players. Alas, we may be bearers of some bad news: no deposit bonuses seem to be heading to history pages, as the new gambling taxation system may signal their DOOM.
The tax applies to bonuses and free plays on gaming sites and was supposed to take effect on August 1st, but was delayed – however, this will be applied retroactively once the legislation, dubbed the Remote Gaming Duty, comes into effect. What this legislation alters is the fact that all first play bonuses will be subject to taxes, as when playing with real money, in addition to playing with winnings earned by bonuses.
All developers and operators are aware of this new rule and some of them have already either started applying it to their games or have acknowledged that they will go down this route. Cozy Games, one of the biggest operators that use no deposit bonuses, are already plotting new ways to keep attracting new players once no deposit bonuses become obsolete. One proposed way to do this is to introduce no deposit free bingo with bingo bonuses.

I bet your bottom dollar that Australia will be one of them for sure, Im not a big user on no deposit bonuses but I know the luck it could bring for some people, besides, its a good testing ground for players to find out weather a casino is worthy or not of their money, I dont know but, these laws and regulations and government...

This article is very low on infromation. Is this bingo only and which country is introducing this? Does this apply to the country of residence, or jurisdiction according to which casino is licensed. It would be nice to get more information if possible.

I am a little confused about this article. The new regulations will be applied to Bingo casinos only, correct ? And it is pretty surprising to know how this new regulations will affect the players and casinos. Maybe, casinos can go back to lower wagering requirement, instead of no deposit bonuses :)

What country is doing this new gambling taxation system? It doesn't say. In the first paragraph, it says bingo players, bingo sites, but in the second paragraph it says the tax applies to bonuses and free plays on gaming sites, sounds like 'all gaming sites,' which would include the casinos. If "no deposit bonuses seem to be heading to the history pages," is this tax gonna effect the 'LCB' Shop? Is this tax only for a 'New Player's' 1st NDB, if they get one and if players withdraw their winnings from this bonus and then deposit some of it later, how are they gonna know that money was winnings from a NDB and taxes it. And one more thing about that '1099,' don't you need over $599.00 before you get one of those things. I'm so confused!

Since the sites that allow US gamblers don't operate as US businesses, the US couldn't levy a tax on them, they'd have to instead tax the gambler. The only way that will happen is if they allow international sites to register as a business here and issue 1099s to people for NDBs

gurusue yes you r right they dont take players from USA. Also this is not too much of a shame since their NDBs were never real no deposits but more of a free trial / play for fun kind of bonuses ( ie never allowed to cashout on its winnings )

Wow, I don't mean to come off the subject but who in their right mind would deposit and play on CozyGames software? It's horrid, the slots are beyond pathetic and the whole layout of these sites are unbelievably poor. Makes sense that their is so many cozy sites seeing as it probably takes 10 minutes to create.
