Back NetEnt Acquires First Online Gaming License in the US

If you still haven’t seen the latest headlines regarding iGaming in the United States, the next piece of information might just blow your mind! Premium supplier of digital gaming systems from Sweden, NetEnt, has officially been granted a permanent Casino Service Industry Enterprise license.

This privileged permit has been issued by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE), since the aggregator has been operating in this territory since 2015.

To clarify, the parent company applied for the license through its main subsidiary, NetEnt Americas LLC. Back then, a “transactional waiver” was assigned to the software studio, allowing it to kickstart gaming operations in New Jersey until the full license has been acquired.

Permanent License For US

Erik Nyman, managing director of NetEnt Americas LLC was the first to express his delight and excitement of gaining a permanent license for the US market. This is his formal statement:

“We are very pleased to obtain our first permanent online gaming license in the US. We have been present in New Jersey since 2015 and have supported the regulator throughout the licensing process. The license marks yet another step in our US expansion as we hope to enter additional states if and when they regulate online casino.”

The US division has recently also expanded its presence in Pennsylvania by forming a partnership with Parx Casino, whose platform is powered by GAN.

Securing Rights for New Blockbusters

Aside from publishing staggering year-end earnings and quarterly reports, the gaming house shows no signs of stopping when it comes to announcing exclusive rights to adapt character-driven stories into slots. This strategy has enabled the group to launch overnight hits like Vikings and Narcos, as well as to confirm further collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne and release a Prince of Darkness-inspired blockbuster, as well as Conan (The Barbarian).

At the beginning of February, the supplier even launched industry-first Perfect Blackjack in partnership with Rank Group.

Moreover, in January 2019, the software provider added two new slot adventures to the portfolio – Strolling Staxx and Turn Your Fortune. Both titles offer quite a majestic gaming experience, including collectable symbols and cutting-edge mechanics.

Therese Hillman, CEO, has also commented on NetEnt’s performance in the past period:

“In the fourth quarter, several of our new games performed well and revenues increased by 9.5 percent (3.9 percent in euro). The adjusted EBIT margin improved to 37.3 percent, supported by higher volumes, the weaker Swedish krona, and better cost control. I look forward to another busy year as we continue to strive for higher organic growth with maintained cost control.”

The group is listed on NASDAQ Stockholm (NET–B) and employs 1,000 people worldwide.
