Just a couple of days ahead of the Safer Gambling Week, Microgaming congratulates multiple safe gambling charities on their outstanding contribution to keeping the industry safe. As one of the most active promoters of the importance of responsible gambling, the company cooperates with several renowned institutions devoted to keeping the online casino sector safe and well-protected.
Throughout the year, Microgaming provided valuable donations to support a wide spectrum of meaningful projects that would help people understand the importance of responsible gambling. Gordon Moody, Ygam, and Motiv8 Addiction Services are just some of the initiatives supported by the renowned gambling corporation.
Mutual Efforts Lead to Success
Over the last three-plus years, Microgaming tied knots with numerous safer gambling charities, providing donations and support to a variety of projects. These activities encompass upgrades of digital infrastructure, improvements of websites, educational videos, and similar.
Sarah Campbell, Director of Compliance at Microgaming pointed out that the team takes pride in cooperating with charities, as efforts to raise the awareness of staying safe and responsible is part of the company’s DNA.
Believing that mutual efforts are the only way to create a safer and more responsible gambling environment for all, she noted:

Worth noting is that Microgaming is also a huge supporter of Safer Gambling Week. This year, the company presented a number of initiatives that focus on education and a better understanding of brain mechanisms that had to do with compulsory gambling.
The activities compulsory training for staff, compliance sessions, and webinars to be held by gambling addiction specialists such as Dr Mark Griffiths (Nottingham Trent University) and eCOGRA.
Getting to Know Safer Gaming Charities
Beacon Counselling Trust runs a special training program called ‘Bet You Can Help’ (BYCH) which focuses on creating a consistent set of messaging regarding Gambling Related Harms (GRH) and the associated issues.
The donation the charity received will be used to create an animated video that aims to support vulnerable communities, with a special focus on Paul’s Place, its suicide bereavement service.
Established in December 2013, Betknowmore is a UK charity helping people take control of their life back from gambling. Using the funds from donations, this institution modernized its website to include more safer gambling content and develop additional digital self-help materials and tools.
Set up in 1971, Gordon Moody is a charity dedicated to assisting people reclaim and rebuild their lives free from gambling addiction. Through counseling and therapies, this institution helps individuals heal and regain hope. Funds from donations are used to support family members affected by those going through gambling addiction treatment.
Formerly known as the Isle of Man Alcohol Advisory Service, MOTIV8 is a local registered charity on the Isle of Man that gathers highly qualified and experienced counselors specialized in addictive behaviors. Ygam is an award-winning charity mainly focused on preventing children and young people from experiencing gaming and gambling harm.
