Back Massachusetts Gaming Venues Show Modest Results in November

Massachusetts casinos have come across different problems as of recent. Some of them showed low gaming figures while others delivered more positive results. According to the figures disclosed by Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC), a brand-new Wynn Resorts venue, Encore Boston Harbor casino recorded a total gaming income of $47.3m in November, which is $1.5m better compared to October results.

More About Encore Success

Encore Boston Harbor saw solid results over the past month. Its slot revenues reached a total of $22.8m compared to its past $500k figure. November slot revenues are still hard to compare with the $359.2 highlight recorded this past August.

As for table games results, Encore table revenues reached $24.5, while making the second-worst result since opening five months ago. The operator hopes to see better results in the future as it announced cutting table game bet minimums from $50 to $15 in the next period.

Other Massachusetts Venues

While Encore Boston saw solid figures in November, the same cannot be said for southwestern venues including MGM Resorts’ MGM Springfield and Plainridge Park Casino. MGM Springfield has reported overall gaming revenues of $19.9m, which is lower $1.2m from this past October figure, and the lowest result in the 15-month history of the venue. The modest outcome has been recorded due to MGM table chances which marked the lowest figure possible.

At the same time, Plainridge recorded similar results in November, as its revenue dropped to $5.4m, serving as the lowest monthly revenue over the four years of operation. At the same time, it was 14.3% below the results in November 2018. It means that Plainridge revenues fell in the four consecutive months making the future of the venue unpredictable.

Penn National Gaming has recently expressed its opinion that Wynn Encore would affect Plainridge Park Casino's performance. With the current decrease of returns of the Plainridge venue, it is more than clear why Penn National Gaming failed to fulfill Q3 expectations.
