Kambi Signs an Extended Sportsbook Contract Agreement With Bulgarian National Lottery and Enters Market of Moldova

One of the world's leading B2B providers of sportsbook technology and solutions, Kambi, has extended its existing contract with Bulgaria's National Lottery JSC. The company will be a driving force behind a global sports betting expansion for this Eastern European country's operator.

According to the terms of the newly signed agreement's provision...

...the provider will also supply the Moldovan National Lottery with an online and retail sportsbook. The confirmation of partnership strengthening came late last week through developer's official press release.

Taking a Hold of the Region

Kambi will, therefore, continue providing their sportsbook and related managed services to the 7777.bg brand before making its premiere entry to the market of Moldova in the summer.

7777.bg, one of the top three online sportsbooks in the country, belongs to Bulgaria's National Lottery JSC which is a member of the World Lottery Association. It has recently been selected by Moldova's Public Property Agency to run its national lottery product and new online and retail sportsbooks.

Moldova doesn't allow sports betting at the present moment...

...but in late 2016, a legislation was passed that will eventually regulate this vertical under a monopoly framework. National Lottery JSC has won a right on a tender to operate in this country for 15 years.

What The Support Entails

The Stockholm-listed operator will deliver its multi-channel sportsbook to JSC and will go live online within the next couple of months. This will be followed by a roll out of retail services, making Kambi Sportsbook available to players in sports betting shops (soon to be open) and local stores.

Kambi Sportsbooks were launched in Bulgaria in early 2018. Since then, National Lottery has grown rapidly in the local and regional market.

This fine success and a triumph on Moldovan lottery tender has prompted the Bulgarian National Lottery to extend their deal with Kambi to an indefinite, long-term period.

Operators Growing to a New Level

Kambi's CEO, Kristian Nylen, said of the extended agreement:

Nylen added that he's delighted that the partnership will be taken to Moldova where, in his view, players will “enjoy our exciting online and retail sports betting experience.”

...who said that his organization replaced the previous sports betting partner with Kambi with the sole intention of becoming Bulgaria's market leader, which was achieved even ahead of time.
