BGaming, a rebranding of SOFTSWISS Games, has developed its own portfolio of products. It’s most recent slot, Spins and Spell, is live just time for the Halloween season. We spoke with Gaming Director Marina Ostrovtsova to discuss everything from the story behind the company, new slots, game development and its recent Swedish license. If you are interested in learning more about the upcoming under water creatures featured in the next game launch or the fruity focus for 2020, keep it right here. A big thank you to Marina and without further ado, the interview.
Q: Not everyone may be aware that this brand of products and services stems from SOFTSWISS. Please tell us more about the rebranding story and the reasons behind it.
A: Interesting question, it has been a while since the rebranding and the separation. To be precise - 1.5 years already, well even a little bit longer. Nevertheless, we are always glad to share the details.
This range of products has been within the group of companies since the beginning. As you know SOFTSWISS is mostly famous for its cutting-edge casino software and a bunch of accompanying products. But not many happened to know that SOFTSWISS has always been a content provider and the development started at the same time when the casino software launched.
For a couple of years from the start we have developed and launched around 30 games, and which is mostly notable - not only slots, we have card games, roulettes and even some casual games. This is not a usual case because game providers normally focused on slots - of course there is a reason behind this, but still we appeared to have to stand out on this.
The content became popular among SOFTSWISS audience and reached the top position (especially in crypto). Still at that time this was just natural for us to have inhouse content but we have never set this as a priority in terms of future development of the whole company. But the numbers made us realise that this can be changed if we place the dedicated team to run this process.
That is was implemented and voila - SOFTSWISS games became BGaming games.
Since then this is a completely different story, with own processes, own sales, own business plans.
Q: SOFTSWISS has made serious strides in the “Provably Fair” sector. Does this carry over and play a major role in BGaming?
A: For sure what has been done and accomplished is still the great part of BGaming. We do appreciate our development - Provably Fair system, we do realise we have been the first to come up with this and yes, we will create our new games using this system.
If we can consider this to be the major role in BGaming - not quite so, although we are a strong believer in fairness in this industry.
We’ve come across a lot when players complain that the games cheat (I am not talking about our content, in general there is a bunch of threads in issue-related forums for all content suppliers). So, the mere info and the tools player can receive from a provider - the more trust the provider can gain from its main audience.
Q: How does a game idea come to fruition behind the scenes?
A: Well, thematic content is a great way to present the game. What I mean is that the number of games increases rapidly each day and when player enters the casino there might be over 5000 slots to choose from. So, having the games sorted by theme is a great way to start the choice process.
Additionally, having new themed title released by the specific event, can act as a marketing tool to promote the game even harder. Operators can run promotions; players can arrange a party and use the themed game as an amusement.
Horror is a classic theme that’s been around since the early days of online slots. And horror can be presented in a variety of formats - this year we have chosen the Halloween.
Q: Can you share any details regarding games in the pipeline?
A: Yes, of course. We are always glad to share some sneak peek about new development.
First of all, the nearest launch will be a video slot depicting deep sea creatures. This is the slot beautifully made, respecting all the aspects of the undiscovered world. This will be the most beautiful slot in BGaming portfolio, probably the most beautiful from all themed slots.
For the next year we will turn our attention to the fruit theme.
Jackpot games is something we would love to accomplish as well.
Q: The company was granted licensing in the Swedish market. How has this immediately effected the operations and expansion?
A: Expanding markets is always exciting. BGaming was issued with the certificate for this marked by BMM test lab.
We know the potential of the Swedish market and till the moment there was not much of a presence there. The current certificate gives us that opportunity to make a stronger and more significant presence.
Q: What’s your personal favorite game in the portfolio?
A: Highly demanded question lately =)) I always reply that there is no personal favorite one for me. All the games are great, some of them are with a long history, some of them are simple yet catching, some of them are great performing games.
Additionally, our portfolio is diverse, which is something to stand out from a classic “just-slot” suppliers.
My personal favorite is yet to come, I would say so.
Q: Last but not least, are there any other facts that you’d like LCB members to know?
A: Choose BGaming - we are trusted provider and fun to spend time with.
