The Shooters - Craps Is One Of The Most Exciting Casino Games

When I walk into a casino, I am amazed at how quiet the place is despite the large number of people. There are the usual sounds of the slot machines talking to the players. There is the sound of people moving through the casino. An announcer might come over the loudspeaker calling out the name of a jackpot winner and the amount of cash won. But aside from that, there are few sounds to interrupt your thoughts...except for one place.

The dice tables.

When noise explodes in a casino, it usually comes from a dice table (normally craps). There a shooter has seized control of the dice and is throwing point after point with nary a seven in sight.

A good shooter is a rarity at a dice table. I have run into a few, but for the most part, they fail to exist.

When one does come along, you need to take full advantage and exploit the situation. Like the two flight attendants from American Airlines.

They had just been transferred to the Los Angeles-Las Vegas flights. Headquartered in Las Vegas, they chose to live there and were at a dice table for the first time in their lives. I overheard their conversation -- they were arguing over who was going to be the shooter -- and decided they were worth a bet.

The girls had been sipping wine and were free with their smiles and actions. One hustled over the dice table, kissed the dice and flung them with wild abandon against the green felt.

A seven.

She rolled the dice up in the palm of her hand and hurled them again. This time she threw an eight. I covered my bet with 10 times the original wager and covered my favorite numbers -- five, six and nine. Then I followed the girls in one of the most spectacular displays of dice control that I had ever witnessed.

The shooter held the dice for a full hour before sevening out. I bet her all the way and pressed my bets, winning more than $2,000 on her roll.

Now these girls knew nothing about dice. They didn't understand a controlled roll. But they possessed something called beginner's luck that defies the odds. I had no control over their rolls and neither did Lady Luck. It was all in the hands of fate and beginner's luck.

Over the years I have followed a number of successful shooters. Truth is, I have backed far more losers than winners. But when I thought a shooter might be successful and backed my thoughts up with bets, I was often rewarded for my efforts.

You won't be right all the time. But if you do pick a winning shooter, you will be in a position to pocket a lot of cash fast. The trick is to press those bets while the shooter is hot and stay with the shooter until the heat evaporates.

Watch for the confident shooter. Watch for the one sho sets the dice. Watch for the one who has a lot of chips in his or her stack. Then just make a bet on the pass line and cover the numbers. Good luck at the tables. Let the games begin.
