888 Holdings has devised a new step in their detail strategy to battle problem gambling and improve safety measures within its global array of betting sites and online casinos.
This week, the company named Andrew Anthony its new responsible gaming director! He will be in charge of player protection initiatives and watching over responsible gaming operations progress, as well as improvements in systems and process.
Anthony, who was with 888 over 15 years...
...and held a range of roles such as a leading one in finance compliance, will report to Yaniv Schwartz, senior vice president and head of customer risk management.
The Right Man For the Job
Anthony's duties will not stop there:
He will be the main figure behind the collaborative process with stakeholder groups and regulatory bodies in the gaming industry with whom the London-based giant will work on initiatives for safer gambling and general betterment of standards everywhere.
He will also be a manager of the Observer team – a unit of experts who use this proprietary player behavior monitoring tool that helps detect unusual and potentially alarming player activity. The team, using data gathered by Observer...
...then decides on steps to be taken based on the info gained.
Schwartz praised the newly-promoted Anthony, remarking that during the course of his career with 888, he gained enormous insight into the behavior of the player base.
“In addition to this, he brings a wealth of quantitative experience and methodology to his new role heading up our responsible gaming team.”
Cultivating the Culture of Responsibility
Senior vice president of the company that recently made its foray into Portuguese iGaming market, also stressed the continuation of social responsibility efforts...
...by claiming that his company always strives to keep those that their games are not intended for away from gambling environment AND to identify and help customers who are showing signs of problem gambling.
Schwartz concluded by saying that he looks forward to “successful delivery of responsible gaming initiatives” that are in plans and to driving Responsible Gaming culture throughout the organization.
Man of the hour himself, Anthony, said in his first statement in a new role that he was thrilled to take on new challenges and added:
“In particular, I am looking forward to working together with my industry peers and stakeholders so we can share ideas and promote best practice initiatives.”
Advertising Controversy
Towards the end of 2018, 888 engaged in a variety of different business maneuvers, including the acquisition of the remaining stakes in the All American Poker Network...
...as well as finalizing its partnership deal with the New York Jets NFL franchise that came with a lot of bad press and negative opinions concerning advertisements, the three-story-high orange banners erected in front of Jets' stadium.
