Customers have spoken and their votes reveal that Caesars Entertainment’s biggest rival in Las Vegas, MGM Resorts, owns the worst resorts in Sin City.
Yelp ratings place MGM's Circus Circus at the top of the worst list with Flamingo Las Vegas coming in second based on Trip Advisor ratings. Other MGM properties with poor customer ratings include Excalibur and Luxor.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, customers have given Wynn Resorts, Palazzo and the Las Vegas Sands’ Venetian great feedback and ratings. Vegas visitors can expect to pay the highest prices in terms of accommodations and other resort amenities. Why? Because the reputation allows them to charge more.
It would cost billions to fix the older casinos like Circus Circus, Excalibur and Luxor. Why put all this money into the resorts when MGM can continue to get money out of them until they shut down and the company can put those dollars toward a brand new casino resort.
Sadly, this seems to be the trend of Las Vegas. Casinos are driven into the ground and when there’s nothing left, the next major resort is built. It’s for this reason that the magic of old Vegas has been lost.

There has to have been a dramatic drop in revenue for these places the past few years, and even with the economic recovery in full swing now, several years of prudence and belt-tightening must surely have left many people much more averse to risking money in general, making gambling a much less interesting pursuit than it perhaps once was. I'm sure that of everywhere in the world, Las Vegas must be near the top of the list of places likely to recover though!

You got that right pinkxxx. Vegas use to be the place. Not anymore it seems. I am really surprised that these poorly rated properties belong to MGM. MGM use to be a big name in beautiful resorts. I am really surprised that they would let them go down in such an undignified way. It seems that everything in the US is deteriorating just like the infrastructure. I guess soon it won't matter anyway. Our roads and highways are deteriorating so fast that we won't be able to get there or anywhere.

Vegas isn't what it used to be . They put up new casinos like crazy , everyones competing . Even roller coasters and other things are constantly being added . The old resorts are being left to rot and shamefully being torn down . They held a lot of history and memories for people . I would like to see them be kept up and...
Vegas isn't what it used to be . They put up new casinos like crazy , everyones competing . Even roller coasters and other things are constantly being added . The old resorts are being left to rot and shamefully being torn down . They held a lot of history and memories for people . I would like to see them be kept up and kept around . Nothing wrong with new casinos but the old appeal will vanish . I enjoy going to casinos that Ive heard my parents talk about that they've gone to and would be cool if my kids could visit the same ones we all have . Be ashame if by the time they are grown it will not be the Vegas me and my parents knew . Yelp is sometimes over rated btw ;)
