Last year’s 'Allied Veterans of the World' internet cafe gambling bust saw another guilty plea this week in Robert Freitas for involvement in the gambling ring.
Freitas, A vice president of the Jacksonville , Florida Fraternal Order of Police, agreed to testify against others if needed but it is being reported that he probably won’t face more jail time than he has already served since his arrest.
He faced several charges including multiple felonies.
The investigation of this gambling ring is said to have led to the arrest of 57 individuals.

Okay. I am a bit confused. After reading the article what I got out of it was that the veterans were asking for donations and then involved with using that money for gambling? I feel kind of like an idiot because it seems like the other two people that left comments understood but I'm a little foggy on this article.

The one humorous aspect of this whole illegal gambling racket was that their attorney, Kelly Mathis that represented this Allied Veterans of the World was actually prosecuted. Well I am outraged....ha, ha. I thought that the only way an attorney was going to go down for anything was if he got lynched by the people he represented.
