Illinois state senator John Cullerton is for online gambling in the state but this week said in a television interview on the topic of the state budget that it will placed on the back burner until issues surrounding land based casino expansion have been addressed.
Cullerton said: “It’s something that’s going to be here. There’s three states that have it. I think, though, that we cannot take that issue up until we resolve whether or not we’re going to have new [land] casinos in Illinois and that again is very difficult to predict.”
Illinois land casino has been opposed by various groups; however the governor supports the issue once state pension issues have been resolved.

There will always be other issues to resolve and if state government has to put it on the back burner at times so be it. We need to get to the place where each state is making the decision and the federal government is staying out of it. The federal government has too many other issues that it needs to resolve.
