This week The Des Moines Register newspaper claims that only a quarter of Iowans want online gambling to be legalized. The newspaper conducted one of its regular state polls with 703 respondents. These polls deal with everything from texting whilst driving to bans on fireworks.
Conclusions were drawn from interviews done with 703 Iowans ages 18 and up. The questioning was conducted in late February by independent company Selzer & Co. Households were chosen by randomly selecting landline and cell phone numbers and responses were sorted out by age, sex and congressional district to reflect the general population based on recent census data. The results have a maximum margin for error of 3.7 percentage points either way.
