The bill that would require online operators offering gambling services to the British public to pay taxes in the UK and obtain additional licensing has passed the committee stage in the House of Lords on Tuesday.
There were a total of twenty amendments proposed for the UK Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Bill including one from Viscount Falkland for an extension of horse racing provisions to tax offshore bookies and another from Baroness Howe to restrict financial transactions with unlicensed operators. None of the proposed amendments were approved.
