Online and land based gambling in Slovenia will now be regulated by a new Gaming Act and monitored by a regulator reporting directly to the Finance Ministry starting in 2014.
As a member of the EU, Slovenia has made the first move to present a draft proposal to the European Commission.
Media indicates that the proposal will see the national lottery remain and five year licenses for sportsbetting and online casino will become available.
