One land based casino is Laos is attracting attention as they stream live dealer action in multiple languages including English, Mandarin and Thai.
According to The Cambodia Daily newspaper, local and foreign croupiers stream live games of blackjack, baccarat or roulette games from the Savan Vegas Casino and players may deposit online via Neteller or Cambodian bank accounts.
Although this is not the first casino to venture into live dealer action, after Ha Tien Vegas shut down the players went over to Savan Vegas’ site.
Sanum Investments operates the casino while the live dealer games are handled by Creative Entertainment Ltd. both with licensing and jurisdiction in Curacao.
Online gambling doesn’t have any legislation at the moment in Cambodia and government officials involved in land casino regulation said that it is actually a gray area in terms of legality. That said, police has broken up gambling rings as recently as a year ago.
Ros Phearun, deputy director of the finance industry department inside the Cambodian Ministry of Economy and Finance, said that his department is digging up some information on Creative Entertainment to ensure that their online business is legal but even so, he says that online gambling in Cambodia is not legal.
