Florida legislators reacted with impressive speed to the recent massive internet cafe 'sweepstakes' gambling scandal by introducing new laws which zipped through the House and this week cleared the Senate as bill SB1030 on a vote of 36 - 4
The measure is already awaiting Governor Rick Scott's signature into law, though he may delay it because of a promised final review in order to satisfy some politicians' concerns that it has been approved without a sufficiently deep scrutiny.
Some online gambling experts are worried about definitions in the bill believing they are sufficiently broad to enable future application to the wider internet and mobile gambling sector.
