This week, the lawmakers of the U.S. State of Mississippi unanimously passed Bill HB 974, which bans Internet Cafes that allow online gambling for prizes.
Explaining the aim of the bill, its author, House Gaming Chairman Richard Bennett, R-Long Beach, said: “They’re not using the Internet at these cafes.
"Customers play slots on a video screen for prizes such as pre-paid phone cards, some of which can be exchanged for cash. The software is the exact same software as in the slot machines that you play,” he said.
