This week’s decision of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to put a conditional veto to an online gambling legalization bill, has received an appraisal from online poker giant PokerStars, whose Rational Group parent is currently involved in getting permission from the New Jersey authorities to acquire the Atlantic Club land casino.
In its statement regarding the governor’s decision, the Isle of Man-based company expressed satisfaction and hope that state legislators would promptly introduce the necessary amendments to lift the veto and get the governor to sign the Lesniak bill into state law.
"“We have consistently said that this bill will drive economic development and job creation in New Jersey and are committed to play our part in that process,” PokerStars stated.
“We are pleased that Governor Christie sees the significant benefits of mixing online and offline gaming.
“The most important thing, though, is that all parties work collaboratively to bring this bill back for signature quickly so that Atlantic City and New Jersey can begin to benefit from this proven global model for successful gaming," the statement reads in conclusion.

Definitely good news for the residents of New Jersey. It's nice to see that they are interested in helping to develop the area and bring some jobs to the area. A lot of other companies should take a hint from this type of legislation.
