This week’s news include reports that Reno, Nevada-headquartered video game developer 3G Studios has applied for multiple Online Service Provider licenses with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, as it plans to go live with one of the first licensed, real-money U.S.-based poker sites with a geo-location software that would help it sign up only Nevada residents initially.
The company apparently plans to start with virtual currency play and convert to real-money action if/when the US relax their position regarding online gambling.
The site’s offering includes casino-style games, and it is expected to have much success on the demanding market. As James Kosta, founder and chief executive officer of 3G Studios said: “Mobile and online gambling will revolutionize the U.S. gambling industry. With our extensive experience in video game development, mobile gaming, social gaming and gambling technology, 3G Studios is uniquely positioned within this emerging industry.”
