Loto Quebec to be supplied by Montreal-based software provider
The Montreal-based Amaya Gaming group, along with internet gambling software developer Chartwell Technology, made a provisional deal with the Société du jeu virtuel du Québec (SJVQ), a subsidiary of Loto-Québec, to supply their gaming website, Espace-jeux, Loto-Quebec's fully licenced online poker and gaming site, with online gaming content.
An Amaya spokesman said that the company is now one of the authorised providers chosen by Loto-Québec through a detailed request for proposal process selected on the basis of its depth of online content and experience which has been enhanced by the acquisition of Chartwell Technology in July 2011.
The Chartwell subsidiary has over 140 proprietary and branded online casino games, and it specializes in the development of a quality gaming platform and content for the Internet, and is about to deliver a total of 39 new games to customers this year.
David Baazov, president and chief executive of Amaya Gaming Group, said: "This is an important milestone for Amaya, as it is our first opportunity to provide online content to a North American gaming website. We are pleased to be expanding our footprint in the growing regulated online gaming space, as well as strengthening our relationship with Loto-Québec."
