Is the Massachusetts Rep to make a shocking announcement?

It has been reported that on Nov. 28, Massachuetts Rep. Barney Frank (D) will announce that he won't seek re-election in 2012.

If made, the announcement will come after the lawmaker’s 16 terms in the House, in whose Financial Services Committee he served as a ranking member who helped draft the financial regulatory reform bill that passed through Congress in 2010, when he was the panel chairman.

As a politician, Frank is known for his openness to and about all current events, which has turned him into a convenient target of conservative Republicans, who sometimes accuse him of leading to the housing crisis.

In addition, Frank is also known as one of only three openly gay members of Congress.
