Italian gaming market gets its first online Live Casino provider licensee

AAMS, Italy’s gaming authority has accredited Evolution Gaming, live Dealer gaming firm, to provide interactive and real-time Live Casino games. With this permission Evolution is able to stream live casino games like Blackjack, Baccarat and Roulette in TV quality to the PC screens of Italian players. Many leading Italian operators like 888 and Microgame have already closed deals with Evolution for the service which will start operating from July 2011.

Very enthusiastic about this project was CEO of Evolution Gaming, Jens von Bahr who said: “The opening up and re-regulating of the Italian gaming market is hugely exciting for operators and their customers. This approval means players in Italy will soon have easy access to our world-leading Live Casino gaming via their PCs through a standard internet connection – with the ability to interact with the dealer and fellow players in real time. This online experience is as close as it gets to a visit to a real casino, and allows customers to take their seats at a live table when and where they choose.”

For the Italian online gambling market, Evolution developed Venezia Roulette Live Casino, which hired experienced and native-speaking dealers. In addition, former senior executive of Havas Media, British Telecom and Telecom Italia, Gionata La Torre was announced to be a new chief executive officer of the company. In a comment on the new role, La Torre said: “I’m sure that Italian players will really welcome the arrival of our Live Casino, with its live chat amongst dealer and players and exceptionally high standard of customer service.”
