iGaming Asia Congress to be held in March
The beginning of the year has been quite exciting in terms of the coming conferences, and one of those is certainly iGaming Asia Congress, which will be held in the Grand Hyatt, City of Dreams in Macau from March 2, 2011.
According to the organizer’s announcements, the conference will present a comprehensive overview of Internet and gaming legislation in Asia, and cover some crucial issues, including the repercussions of China's ban on Internet betting and gaming, licensing options, and potential online gambling legalizations in the future.
In a rather comprehensive statement, the organizers provided a summary of the biggest markets in Asia, as well as a country by country breakdown of what is legally allowed and what is not, who the main players are, routes to market and local partnerships.
The countries and regions addressed are:
CHINA & TAIWAN – Opportunities in the sports and welfare lotteries, building relationships with local media and update on the casino law in Taiwan
SE ASIA – Strategies of the incumbent operator in Malaysia and sports betting updates for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia
PHILIPPINES – Marketing channels, betting opportunities and distribution via Internet cafés and kiosks
KOREA – Update from the monopoly operator, SportsToto
INDIA – Lottery opportunities, licensing and online gaming
AUSTRALIA – Policy and regulatory changes implemented since the Productivity Commission's Final Report on Gambling and the potential Asia-wide impact of changes in racing and sports betting
In addition, it was stated that the conference will introduce delegates to the strategies used by Asian operators to approach the European market, as well as some crucial challenges that foreign operators may encounter in Asia.
