Theme and Symbols

The graphical details that this game offers are ways above what you’ll find on most slots, including animations that really bring the menacing zombies alive (sort of...) on the reels. The remaining symbols on the reels either come in the form of survivors, or gear that you’d expect to find during a zombie apocalypse.

There’s a couple of things here that change the basic dynamics a lot, but we’ll get to that later.

For now, you’ll have the five reels of three symbols each as a space to move around and avoid the undead. This is a high variance game, which means that the wins trend towards bigger and the winning opportunities towards fewer.

Do notice that the base playing area will expand with the features, so there’s actually a lot more winning opportunities than normal. On the other hand, you need eight symbols to line up perfectly to score the biggest win, which is 1000 times the line bet.

Features

The basic wild is always present and always covering a whole reel. Which reel it covers is random, changing on every spin.

The main feature is called progressive bonus spins. You need to land three or more bonus symbols to fire up the feature, the more bonus symbols the higher the starting level.

What does the level mean? It means the number of extra reels that show up, of which the maximum three. Each of these reels will have a special wild (zombie) taking up the entire reel. Hitting more bonus symbols is required to raise the level.

Besides the three expanded wilds on the three first reels, you’ll also get the roaming wild going around, adding to your winning possibilities. With all modifiers on you are sure to gain three symbol wins on every spin...and those do stack up!

Our Take

Pragmatic Play’s Wild Walker is a delightful and entertaining slot that doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to the theme, and how horrible a zombie apocalypse would really look like. The real strength of the game comes from the way the reels expand during bonus features, and how the wild take over the screen. It’s superb high variance fun!
