Wild Corrida

Wild Corrida takes on the controversial theme of bullfighting, albeit without all the blood and gore. In fact, there’s not much at all fighting going on around the reels. The crowds are there still to cheer you on, and the bull is a rather welcome sight too.

The game uses a rather strange number of 178 ways to win, which explains also why the wins trend towards medium in size. There are a handful of features that bring plenty of action on the reels, allowing quite handsome wins in the end...as long as the bull charge.

Theme and Symbols

The stadium is full, whether they’re there to see the matador or the bull is an open question. The symbols on the reel are mostly tied to the theme (turns out, bullfighting is a popular theme) and offer a somewhat cartoonish take on the subject. It’s quite welcome and fitting and will have you spinning in no time. There are plenty of music and sound effects going on too, not to mention animations which feature on the reels as soon as you land some special combos. 

Betting Options and Functions

Expanse Studios has divided the playing area into five reels, each with four symbols. Wins are formed through adjacent reels, as long as symbols are either next to each other or touching at the corners…

…this way, there’s a total of 178 ways to form wins…

So how are the ways to win and prizes balanced? Towards the lower end. The minimum win is double the bet from the lowest value three symbol combo and up to 100 times your bet for the highest valued five symbol combo. Luckily, the variance works out quite well for the reels, dropping combinations ever so often.

Features

Normally the wild only shows up on reel two, three and four, but this can change with the help of several features.

• Walking Wild

The wild bull only shows up on reel 5, during normal spins, and when it lands it activates respins. During each spin the bull moves one step left, eventually leaving the reels after reaching the first reel, at which point the respins stop.

• Bull Goes Wild

This requires the above to function, changing the play a bit. Whenever the bull sports a scatter, it will charge towards it. This will leave wilds in all the positions the bull covered, with possible win multipliers added to the mix. The bull can attack multiple scatters on a single round, going vertically and horizontally. Each scatter also increases the multiplier by one.

Should there be no bull when scatters land, three of them will reward you with three respins.

Our Take

In case you’re wondering, Corrida means run. Which is what you should do if you ever spot a bull near you! Here it obviously works together with the wild and its many features. The game is a bit so-and-so when it comes to wins, as they often won’t even cover your whole bet. On the other hand, fighting a bull is always a risky endeavour and the multitude of wilds will result in spectacular wins. Choose carefully!
