In Treasure of Shaman, Fugaso conjures up a jungle world where spear-wielding religious figures reign supreme. Though this mask-heavy, faintly racist theme is somewhat vague, the resulting game nevertheless contains several enjoyable bonus features, one of which offers a top payout of 14,175 times the line bet.

Theme

While palm trees sway in the background, five reels appear on a bamboo stage. To one side of the reels sit a massive sculpture of a head, in the style of Easter Island but wearing a lei and acting as a perch for a parrot. To the other side stands a masked, dark-skinned, genderless priest who periodically dances and brandishes a spear. Drumming and chanting provides the musical background. It’s a gaming world based on to no particular place, people, or time, more of a cobbled-together fantasy that is neither well-thought-out nor completely without appeal. Gaming symbols include multicolored masks carved of wood and the green playing card values ace through ten. Glowing, green wild symbols substitute for other symbols to form winning combinations, the shaman symbol acts as scatter, while an image of life inside a bamboo hut triggers the bonus game. The overall feel is lighthearted and only mildly offensive.
