Thunderkick is a quality producer, and this slot is no different from most of their portfolio. The graphics and animations are a step ahead of the competition and the gameplay features are though out. It’s not the best Thunderkick game out there, by far, but it does offer a bit of themed fun for those willing to take a look. The wins are somewhat mediocre. Luckily, the main feature compensates for this quite well.
Theme
The theme seems to originate from the plains and deserts of Mongolia, where the traditional method of falcon hunting still exists as something else than an expensive hobby. The symbols are a collection of playing card ranks, which have received a new look, as well as characters and items that fit the theme. There are plenty of animations giving a bit of life to the reels. Sounds and music effects are mostly howling winds, which again do feel like they fit the game well.
Betting Options and Functions
Classic setup of five reels with three symbol positions each is combined with nine paylines, which all run from left to right. Betting is done by selecting the total bet from a dozen or so choices, these run between 0.10 and 100 coins per spin.
The wins are quite high, as is the variance. Five wilds with a bet of ten coins per spin will yield a return of 5000 times the line bet. The top win from themed symbols is the same, with the falcon huntress being the most important character in the game. The minimum you can win from a three symbol combination is about five times the line bet. Generally speaking, the wins are above average when compared to other slots.
Features
The wild also works as a scatter. It substitutes for any other symbol and also rewards the player with free spins when more than three show up at the same time. During the bonus game of free spins, three or more wild scatters showing up on the reels the player is awarded another ten free spins.
The second bonus feature is called expanding wins. This occurs completely at random during the base game, and on every win during the bonus game. All symbols that take part in a winning combination expand individually across the reels, creating new combinations and new ways to cash in. The symbols expand to fill the individual reel they are in.
Our Take
This is not the best Thunderkick game there is, but it does stand well enough on its own to warrant a spin or a dozen. The theme is not exactly something that is popular, but given how well it has been done this causes no drawbacks. A game of excellent quality that gives plenty of big wins for those with a bit of patience to keep on rolling the reels. Try at one of our suggested casinos.
