Mega symbols, plenty of paylines, and infinite free spins is something you would expect from a company named Big Time Gaming. Temple Quest takes its theme and inspiration from the endless saga of hidden jungle temples of Aztecs, Incas, Mayas and such. The playfield consists of five times four reel set up with promises of great riches. Read more below to find out how this all works out.
Theme
The music and sound effects are what you would hear if you entered the jungle, done probably by someone who hasn’t entered a jungle. There’s a lot of animal noises and the occasional effect to let you know you have won. The screen itself is composed of a vine-covered temple in the middle of the jungle, with the symbols being the classic ones or ones inspired by the ancient cultures. Nothing extraordinary here for those who have played a similarly themed game, such as, before.
Betting Options and Functions
The minimum stake per line is a penny and the maximum five bucks per line. Do notice, however, that you are only paying for ten lines. The remaining thirty paylines come for free! This is an extremely unusual setup, which unfortunately goes mostly unexplained. Free is free, though you might notice that the variance is still quite high due to the multitude of pay lines.
Looking at the payouts it might be a bit more clear why you get so many free paylines: they are quite small. The wild is the top symbol, and it will return up to 375 times your line bet. The second most valuable symbol, on the other hand, only returns fifty times your line bet. Overall, the size of the payouts is quite a disappointment.
Features
Mega icons show up randomly, and they can fill up to 16 individual positions at once. Matching them with the remaining smaller icons might result in quite massive payouts, even with the low overall prize-structure. But to land them you do need some incredible luck.
The mega icons also come into play for free spins. Mainly meaning that whenever this supersize free spin icon lands you are rewarded a free spin for every normal position the mega-icon occupies. During the free spins the first reel work as normal, with the rest of the positions filled with these bigger symbols. The free spins can be re-triggered infinitely, though that would require some luck.
Our Take
Something like Aztec Idols would probably offer more for your money. Though the features are interesting at first look the game is really ruined by the overall low levels of the prizes. Though, if you are into low volatility slots that is a whole other story. Try the game for free before putting your money in.
