Spin Town has a pretty strange theme, though it’s not the strangest we have seen. What is more, it manages to add some extra life to the slot in the form of a dozen different wilds that don’t even land on the reels. This is a game that has managed to add a new special feature to the whole genre, one we will surely see duplicated by other producers soon enough.

Theme

The game is clearly set somewhere in England, with a traditional street having received the reels on them. The graphical style is very unique and works wonders for this game. The music is also very good, and definitely more so given that you don't expect this kind of sound effects from a slot like this. The symbols are a combination of playing card ranks and different things you hold in your pockets, such as coins keys, and wallets. Everything fits together perfectly.

Betting Options and Functions

All forty paylines connect from left to right via the five reels, each having four symbols on them. The betting level starts from 0.20 coins per spins and tops at six coins per spin. Now that’s a way more reasonable range of possible bets than you see in most slots.

There are ten normal symbols, which are divided into two casts. The lower ones pay between four and sixty times the line bet, whereas the higher cast pays from 16 to 300 times your bet. In this regard, the game offers quite decent but low overall wins. As you would expect, the majority of action comes from the special features.

Features

Wilds, wilds, wilds and more wilds. I don’t think I have ever seen so many wilds in a single slot. It is probably also the first slot that doesn’t land the wilds directly on the reels. How this works, is that different wilds show up on the right-hand side, and as soon as the light turns green(at random) all the wilds cross the reels, one spin at a time. This means that if you have three wilds at the same time it will take them five spins to travel through the reels, paying each time a winning combination hits. Quite ingenious!

But that’s not all. Different wilds come with different features. A certain set of reel-crosses might fall asleep and remain in the reels for longer than intended. Other wilds cross the reels at double speed. Another will offer a double multiplier, whilst others may end up crossing the streets up to ten times, or offer mega wilds when they bump into similar wilds, or simply stick together to make the most of the crossing.

Our Take

If you like wilds then this is definitely a game you must try. Having played hundreds, if not thousands of slots, I can say that this is the first time I have seen a company innovate with wilds in such a surprising way. This game is a must try for any slot enthusiasts, and not just because it is different. It also offers quite nice wins, though with rather high volatility. Great job by Red Tiger Gaming!
