Space Hunters

Roll the reels just once and you’re going to notice that the game is all about superheroes, albeit in the form of Space Hunters, chasing after Space Villains. This is obviously a mobile slot, but for such a game it looks superb on all accounts, with the sort of quality you’d usually expect from desktop screens…

...all the visual aside, does the game offer the sort of sci-fi features the theme does? Not when it comes to the basic reels, but you will run into some entertaining mini-games when you get past that.

Theme and Symbols

High-resolution images of heroes and villains, or just hunters going after their prey. It’s not altogether clear, although the opening animations do open up the story a bit more. The graphics are absolutely amazing, even more so when you get the animations and mini-games going. The music is very tense, though on the downside it tends to loop a bit too much, at least until you get off the basic game and into the special features. 

Betting Options and Functions

Twenty-five paylines through five reels of three symbols each. That’s something you see every day, even if the rest of the game isn’t. The RTP on the game is above 97%, which alone should you get on the reels for a few spins.

The variance feels like somewhere between medium and high. There are no truly gigantic wins, with the highest price being 300 times the line bet, but overall the prizes are in line with the bet level and the number of paylines.

Features

This is where the real action is...and well, on the animations and stuff as well.

Free Spins symbols will launch scatters. Three, four and five will land you 10, 20 or 30 bonus spins. These are pretty standard, with no further modifiers.

However, if you collect eight bonus symbols you finally get to the mini-game. Here all sorts of possibilities open up, in the form of an interactive fight. Move your hero, land some blows and defeat the enemy units one by one to loot their treasures.

Our Take

Surprisingly, this game is also available as a scratch card, so perhaps we can expect something of a series of games following the same ideas by PlayPearls? We’d certainly welcome it. 

Space Hunters is perfect for mobile gaming, offering the sort of fast and entertaining spins that you’d prefer on the go, or when you just have a minute or two to spare for your spins. The stakes aren’t insanely high, which makes this a perfect setting for low-bet spinners.
