Another fruit cocktail on the lines. There’s no shortage of these games, whether it is the traditional setup, something new, or just recycled symbols with the same old sound effects. Merkur Gaming is no newcomer to the scene with their cabinets providing plenty of experience with the theme. Does that translate into a playable game and is the old format broken down far enough? Read below.
Theme
You won’t notice anything out of the ordinary here. The game comes with a background picture of its own that spices things up a bit, even if all the symbols are part of the old and familiar cavalcade. On top of the fruits, you do have a wild as well, giving some variety to the gameplay. Though the audio side of things is nothing spectacular it is at least there. When it comes to animations there’s a couple of neat surprises in store. It’s not the most modern look but Rising Liner makes the most out of it.
Betting Options and Functions
As a welcome surprise, the wins don’t pay just from left to right this time. Instead, all adjacent symbols combine into wins as long as there is enough of them. Left, right, or in the middle, doesn’t matter as long as at least three are there to form up a combination.
You can select between 5, 10, 15 or 20 paylines. The bet runs from a minimum of 0.01 to 5 coins per line. Cherries and lemons pay between 5 and 100 times the line bet, plums and oranges between 5 and 200, melons and grapes between 10 and 500 coins, and Seven is the top symbol paying between 20 and 1000 times the line bet. Combos hit the screen at a constant pace.
Features
When the wild hits the screen it immediately spirals out of control and connects into all adjacent symbols as well, turning them into wilds. The wild substitutes for all and this combined with the paylines that connect from all directions mean big wins every time it is on the reels.
Other than this the only feature available is the gamble function. You can either double, quadruple, or climb the gamble ladder with well-placed guesses and good timing. Remember that the chances are not superb, but the wins can sometimes make a difference between a successful gaming session and a losing one.
Our Take
Classic slots are a dime in a dozen, and at first look, Rising Liner seems to fall into the same category. In the end, it manages to give a bit of a surprise, and will certainly make more than one player spin a few extra times - as long as they just take the first spin. Try it, you might just find out your new favorite nostalgia slot!
